He is another unfortunate case where the numbers don't justify how skillful he is. Plus is a good fielder and has good ability to bat, looks like a slogger but has good stability on the crease and hitting range. Basically he is improved version of Avesh Khan, who for some reason is apple in the eyes of our selectors. The guy is a potential pick not the one where you look at stats or anything.. he would have been nurtured if he was from a SENA country. Hopefully he gets consistent opportunities at IPL level. Mohsin played over him majority of the season based on past reputation & he was seriously unfit and lacked pace. Edited October 29, 2024 by Lone Wolf singhvivek141 and tapandrun 2

Mohsin's fitness is even poorer than Mayank. That guy is like Khali, if he falls down on the ground once, its all over. Mohsin this IPL season was uber pathetic, simply bowling half tracker which the batters were depositing into the stands. He has variations, gets bounce, but is simply too lethargic to make any use of it on consistent basis. raki05 and Lone Wolf 1 1

At one time there were doubts that he will ever play cricket, gaining weight during such injury is normal, if he would have not got that injury he was 1st choice over umran and singh. think of that situation he was so close to Ind cap and suddenly something like that happens. right now he is nowhere near that pace , he is kind of fading shadow of that version, think he just made a comeback without getting into shape and working on his pace, right now he too seems to be content as long as he gets ipl contract Edited October 29, 2024 by tapandrun singhvivek141 1

Gambhir said that Harshit is faster and younger. It's like the selectors have no eye for talent and just pick based on eggsperience or stats. You will absolutely won't want such bowlers whose mere presence will end the preference for looking for fast bowlers. Plus I really doubt Deshpande is fit enough to bowl such speeds in tests. He looks one extra chapati away of entering into unfit category. Vyshak is next Ashok Dinda, gives everything while bowling but sadly don't have the engine behind to hit high speeds. He can bowl long spells like a workhorse and will always be coming at you, but thats where his utility ends. Heard he is decent batter as well. Yes he is bit erratic, think he worked on his fitness looked in shape, agree with not being able to bowl at same IPL/t20 speeds in test. There is no point in nt trying some1 who is quick and has some domestic exp. and has kind of attribute that works in Ind skiddy and fast and he a bowl some yorkers too. Right now Ind is down to 1 pacer effectively and you do not want Bhumrah to go Srinath's why where he is over-bowled to dust need to create any many back-ups as possible, now on bhumrah should only play high profile series and tournaments.

express bowling Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 Umran Malik was initially selected for the prestigious Duleep Trophy this season. However, he fell ill with dengue, which forced him out of the tournament. Upon recovering, he faced additional setbacks, including a toe injury, followed by a hamstring issue. After dealing with these injuries, Malik experienced discomfort in his left hip during bowling, leading to consultations with various specialists. Scans revealed a stress fracture in his left hip, which is an unusual injury for a player of his calibre. Mosher 1

No wonder selectors pick trundlers who are always available.

Lone Wolf Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Conflicting reports now saying Harshit won't debut he is just bowling in the nets. Clown GG got scared for the backlash perhaps for retaining him uncapped.

Lone Wolf Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 ToI saying no debut lol IND vs NZ: A big report came out regarding the Mumbai Test match between India and New Zealand that KKR's IPL champion fast bowler Harshit Rana could make his debut in the Mumbai Test match. Harshit Rana was also a part of the T20 and ODI Team India but has not yet made his international debut. In such a situation, Gautam Gambhir could field him in Mumbai before the Australian tour. But now a media report has come out that Harshit Rana is going to be out of the Mumbai Test match. Harshit Rana will not be able to debut Speaking to Times of India, a BCCI source said, Delhi's next Ranji Trophy match is to be played from November 6. But till now he has not been included in the Test team India. Now he is going to practice with Team India as a net bowler for this match. The source further added, Washington Sundar was included in Team India before the second Test. After this, he also got a chance to play. Before his selection, a meeting of the selectors of Team India was held. But no meeting has been held yet regarding the selection of Harshit Rana. In such a situation, either Akash Deep or Siraj, a fast bowler pair, will be seen bowling with Jaspreet Bumrah for the Mumbai Test match. While Rana has been included as a reserve player for the series against New Zealand. Delhi's next Ranji match is to be held from November 6, so Rana has been included in Team India as a net bowler. He has not been given a place in the team yet.

Now a days bowlers don't want to bowl more and seen doing weight training. Once there is instances that Sunil Gavaskar made KapilDev bowl consecutively from one end.
