Shown on TV after 33 overs

Fastest

Gurnoor   146.8 k

Prasidh    142.2 k

Prince       138.x k

Nitish.       136.x k

Average

Gurnoor   142.x k

Prasidh    138.x k

Prince      133.x k

Nitish.      133.x k

Impressive average speed by Gurnoor in the day-time Chennai heat.

This should be the speed range for Prasidh.  Looks to have far more control over his release while bowling at this speed.

Just seemed to push the ball through when bowling quicker

Not impressed by Prince in ODI mode. He was good in IPL. This promotion was a bit too much it seems. Can stick to T20 for now.

His averge speed is same as Reddy.

Reddy himself is inferior to Hardik in bowling. He is easier to hit and target. His speeds have improved. 133K average in this heat is not bad.

Gurnoor is super impressive. Definitely long format bowler. Look to groom him for Tests.

Gurnoor does not have to play T20. Test and ODI is good enough. He will definitely get chancea next IPL.

  • Harshit
  • BOOM
  • Siraj
  • Gurnoor
  • Prasidh
  • Mayank Yadav
  • AshokSharma
  • SUSHANT MISHRA/ARSHAD KHAN/Mukesh CHOWDHARY

are the bowlers that should represent india.

NITISH is not as good as Hardik even now , he gets less bounce , he is medium pace not a fast bowler and hardik can touch 139 to 140K but yes as a fifth Pacer in africa/newzealand/england , nitish can be played. DUbe is a monster if he gets going in a t20 game so picking him makes sense.Nitish is a good batsmen but not a big hit in t20.

washington / axar are a waste in england /africa , i am not sure why are they picked in the t20 squad to england and ireland. bishnoi and Varun are high class spinners. manav suthar is much better than washington or axar. nitish has to be picked ahead of washie. only thing i hate about nitish his short height , his pace is way too slow ( always under 136k)

Prince Yadav is no Mayank yadav , he is close to what a trundler is . in a team where BOOM,Prasidh, Gurnoor ,Harshit ,Siraj are there , Prince has no chance to be in the 11 unless one or 2 pacers are injured.

i am shocked to see GURNOOR not picked in t20 ahead of Prince.

Bhai ishant ka replacement hai gurnoor.......permanent fixture on our team. Prince yadav will be HISTORY after this series- he is accurate but his physical attributes are AVERAGE..physically he is no where as good as Tall and tagda sardar Gurnoor/ khatarnak action wala world beater BOOM/ Skillful Siraj who bowls from 125k to 149k / ASLI Mard Superfast JAAT Balwaan Harshit RANA/ bouncer specialist Prasidh. Prince says I am a yorker specialist but all those are mightly super human guys.

i have seen harshit ,prasidh, arsh ( cleaver shrewd naap tol ke bowling karne wala Arshdeep) bowling recently. Harshit was way faster then Prasidh and arsh was medium pace in second spell. Prasidh bowled one ball at 125 and one at 147k, lot of difference.

Today Prasidh turned into a MONSTER ,  finished afghanisthan in his first 4 overs.

Prince will be rightly replaced by Super fast Mayank very soon and he will become history.

Prasidh's Average speed was 139 kph in his 1st spell. That is ok for a age 30+ tall pacer.

But I want every quick pacer to retain the ability to bowl a few deliveries at 145 kph+ in most matches, till they retire.

Afghanistan is a weak team. But against big teams, on flatter decks, a few quicker balls maybe needed to prise out wickets or surprise batters, especially with the older ball.

Another issue is that Prasidh dropped speed in his 2nd spell. And his bumpers were sitting up. This is not good.

But one improvement I like is that Prasidh's good length balls have become less floaty.  Earlier, even when he clocked 145 k, his good length balls looked floaty. Now, he is able to hit the deck at that length and that is one of the biggest reasons why he got those wickets today apart from bowling a good line.

Apparently India Emerging side is also going to tour SL for a red ball series.

A challenger trophy type tournament between 4 teams and their coaches is going to be conducted to select India Emerging team

Excellent initiative by BCCI

Wanted this to happen badly. Wrote about this.

Need more red ball games among India A, India B etc when domestic cricket is not going on.

Want Gurnoor, Ashok, Harshit, Mayank, Tyagi, Tarmale, Apple Tom all to get chances.

4 teams mean 16 pacers and the 7 quick pacers above can easily be accommodated after getting in 9 favourite trundlers.

I think Gurnoor is already part of India A along with Nabi for those 4 day tests in SL starting next month in Galle.

But this is great news for Likes of Tyagi Ashok MAYANK, Mohsin Simarjeet (hopefully )and batters like Raghuvanshi Prabhsimran and some all round prospects and some spinners hopefully.

Right method to filter out the players as Ranji standards have fallen.

Great way to arrest test slide and prepare adequate backups.

Onkar Tarmale and Apple Tom must get chances.

And Harshit will be a better pacer if he plays these higher quality FC games instead of random T20Is

I do think raghuvanshi looks like someone who is perfectly suited to tests

I am pleased that some good developments are happening in Indian cricket with better management by BCCI re: Player identification. We cannot rely on the domestic stats as nearly 70% of teams are poor quality teams . Instead  give more weightage for apparent talent in these youngsters and then make them play together and filter the best possible. Lots of exposure i see in 2026for  youngsters  compared to ealrier years.  Even for India A they should have these kinds of matches at COE  bangalore rather than just going by same names  again and again.

Should have happened much earlier but better late than never.  They have understood that India will struggle in red ball cricket if we don't do something about it.

It is impossible to select players from Ranji considering how massive it is with too many sides and opposition quality and pitches are always questionable.

Hopefully they do this yearly at least and test our emerging red ball sides not only vs SL but in future vs Australia England as well.

Gurnoor looked good -- can bowl multiple lengths, bowled with pace, bounce, zip and able to sustain the pace.

Prince -- Not suited to Odis, does nt have pace, will need a lot of assistance from pitches and conditions to be effective. Can be tried in T20is

Harh-- Do not think he is intnl level at-least white-ball, no zip , no spin , batting is not that useful for a #6/7/8 batter.

Good initiative by the bcci. Hope these matches will be live streamed. Hope Ashok, Onkar, Mayank, Tyagi, Umran and Eden Apple will be in the 4 teams and atleast 3 guys make it to the emerging team.
