Problem with having both Prasidh and Siraj in the playing 11 in ODIs is that none of them have death bowling skills. Siraj is not a middle over enforcer either.

Siraj's inclusion in the 11 only makes sense if Bumrah is unavailable and they need some experience. But Siraj is not that experienced in ODIs either.

Have mentioned this on other threads Ind needed a pacer who could bat and a high pace bowler for the wc playing 11 along with a LH batter in mo who can bowl a bit.

But due to lack of overall odis and planing Ind is looking a stalling side.

Harshit is No.8. bowling allrounder.

Should not compete with Gurnoor, who is being used as a middle over enforcer by TM. Harshit, with a string of 3 recent injuries, can't be an enforcer now.

If Siraj goes, he should replace either Arshdeep or Prasidh, both of whom are being used as new ball bowlers by TM.

■■  TMs assigned roles in recent ODIs ....

■  New ball bowlers  ....

Bumrah

Prasidh

Arshdeep

Siraj  ( not played recently )

■  Middle over enforcer

Gurnoor

■  Death over bowler

Bumrah

Arshdeep

Harshit

■  No.8 bowling allrounder

Harshit

Which means

Bumrah

Gurnoor

Arshdeep

Harshit

must be there to cover different roles.

And only one among Prasidh or Siraj can be there.

This logic must be followed.

Harshit has picked 26 wickets from 14 ODIs. Bowling average of 27.

Plus batting average of almost 25.

When he was fit, he was bowling 135 k to 147 k with bounce, seam movement and good enough accuracy.

Problem was his weight and belly fat which led to injuries.

we are not appreciative of the rare earth Indian mineral called a 140k+ pacer who can hit sixes

Spot on , It is inexcusable for this guy to remain so fat and unfit even after having all the facilities.

His batting should not a factor for his selection. His Economy is 6.21 and he huffs and puffs to complete even his ten overs.I don't think he has ability to maintain speeds which are 140 at best..

129 k to 138 k.

He was not bowling full throttle. Just easing back after injury.

He has to pick a format now. can not play all 3

I think he has maybe given up on redball as of now, maybe after the main event ,he will phase himself out by playing red ball

Bumrah has played just 2 ODIs in the last 34 months and 0 tests in 2026.

Just playing T20s mostly this year and even there he has bowled full tilt in only a handful of big games.

Any less cricket and he would lose pace and bowling fitness permanently.

I personally dont think Bumrah will call off red ball so soon. He will play atleast till the completion of current WTC (wc to be corrected). His fitness is the key though.

If any, he has bowled slow overall this year in T20s...even in IPL he was trundling for majority part. But in ODIs he was hovering at 140s, probably he is taking things light in T20s against weaker opposition. He in one of the interview even said that he has decided when to push his body to the limit and when not to.

They have been developing pradish for this wc, he is playing all 3 formats for a reason. they want him in the wc.

With lack of exp. do not think that they would want either(gurnoor or pradish ) of them be the 2nd pacer. Siraj will be added to the side , the toss-up will be Gurnoor or  Rana. Arsh will be for LA varity.

He is playing all 3 formats because of Gambhir, nothing else, once Gambhir goes, no one will pick Prasidh  he will become unprasidh
