Should be sending Sen, Mayank, Rana, Umran in SA, even if they do not make it to the playing 11. Send them as cover/net bowler or something. Here planning needs to be longterm. Else it will be samething that Ind will need to bring back same players who they said are done with this/that format eg. Ashwin (plays wc to wc), Jadeja was out of white ball but he is now only allrounder playing all 3 formats, Shami was said to be done for white-ball and for longitivtiy he will be preferred for tests only. List A averages ( rounded off ) Avesh 41 Arshdeep 35 Mukesh 35 Deepak 27 ( but ODI average of 31 ) The others, apart ftom Deepak, have played too few ODIs to consider averages. Plus no pace and bounce in the attack at all, that too for a series in SA. Why not pick Mayank Yadav and Kuldeep Sen in place of Avesh and Arshdeep. They would still have 2 medium pacers to " feel.safe ". P.S .. I am assuming that Prasidh and Harshit can't be in the squad as they are playing for India A. I have accepted the fact here that u less selectors hear someone's name in IPL, they aren't going to select any new faces unless he has a strong lobby. Hope Kartik Tyagi is picked by KKR as GG usually has better sense of supporting young quicks.
