I was expecting this.

7. Jadeja

8. Nitish

9. Harshit

10. Bumrah

11. Siraj

this is the bowling lineup I expect in Perth. Not fully my choice as I would replace Siraj with Akashdeep or Prasidh and Jaddu with Washington.

Reddys selection Looks unlikely.

I am expecting

Sundar

Rana

Bumrah
Akashdeep

Siraj

The tail is anyways not gonna score anything at Perth, we shouldn't compromise our pace bowling for some supposed balance.

Since Gabba 2020-21, the Indian test team have favoured someone at 8 who can score consistently with the bat.

And this has become necessary because we keep carrying past it or out of form senior batters. First Rahane and Pujara. Then Kohli snd Rohit. And the ever present Rahul.

It's not an ideal scenario to play a batting allrounder at 8 but to play the 4 best pacers we need 7 best batters currently and not based on past exploits.

Kohli used to be a decent cricketer.

Well, against Pakistan he still is.

It's the other teams where he just wakes up from the bed and comes to bat unprepared.

I think Prasidh might find a way in the XI as well.

With his new found skill of batting, management may be tempted to.

Akashdeep is always under utilized in every game, seems TM don't trust him much.

If Prasidh can hold his nerve then Harshit and Prasidh bouncing the older ball at 140 k+ can be a big plus for us.

The problem is that in Perth the tailenders hardly have a chance of doing well, so if we are 6 down we are toast, no one can help after that.

Also Reddy looks slow, lets see what happens, I would have bet on Shardul.

I think Siraj will play the first match for sure, his lack of success in recent past was in India only, he was the reason why we played a draw series in SA.

I won’t drop him based on performances in Indian conditions.

Bumrah, Siraj and Akashdeep’s places should be locked.

The competition is between Rana, Reddy and Prasidh.

I think Rana will be picked as he can bat a bit and we won’t have to compromise the bowling.

I think Bumrah, Harshit snd Siraj are locked. It's between Reddy, Akashdeep and Prasidh for the 4th pacer's slot.

Reddy's main issue is lack of ability to extract life out of pitches. His release speeds are ok for an allrounder.

But the spicy Perth pitch may hide this inability somewhat.

I will go with Akashdeep..due to slight batting and also we need someone accurate in case Siraj is still in bad form and Harshit  gets under debut pressure..

exactlly i feel the same- at least for first test boom , akash and siraj are confirmed.

prasidh and rana fight for the 4th spot if they want to pick a genuine pace bowler but if they feel they just need a Support bowler then they will go with Nitish reddy.

Nitish 's batting is fair or i would say his strong point and his pace bowling is his weak point, though on the perth wicket if he manages to take some wickets and not score much runs still his batting is way good as he bats at no 4 and no 5 for his state side and probably bowls first change.

GG and rohit have to decide if they want a genuine pacer or  a support Pacer who can bat- if they decide genuine pacer then Prasidh may be picked ahead of Harshit rana as Prasidh got few wickets in the INDIA A match and probably out bowled Mukesh kumar and Saini.

Gist is team management may pick Prasidh ( if genuine pacer is required) or Nitish reddy ( if AR is required ). RANA could be picked in second test when he is fully ready and one of the pacers is hurt or out of form.

so for me line up

  1. eswaran ( KL is hurt and he may have reasons that my arm aches )
  2. jaiswal ( he will highest Scoring batsman among Indians)
  3. Gill
  4. kohli
  5. Rishabh
  6. Jurel ( ahead of Sarfaraz)
  7. washington
  8. Prasidh ( rana wont be picked ) or NITISH Reddy.
  9. akashdeep
  10. BOOM
  11. Siraj

if they pick Nitish reddy , they will have batting depth till no 8 , nitish may be able to pick wickets on perth but on other flatter tracks he may not be good enough.

Akash and Jasprit are going to be OUTSTANDING Pacers of INDIAN team in this Series. BOOM or Akashdeep will get maximum wickets in this series.

BOOM may bowl from 130k to 150 k in this TEST Match

& Akash will bowl from 130K to 146K in this TEST Match

AKASH and BOOM both may get 5 wickets each in at least one innings.

do u think harshit will debut in a high pressure game and when he has not played INDIA A game too- Prasidh got good wickets in those matches and except Prasidh , mukesh got a few wickets who is in reserves so i feel Logically Prasidh has played 2 matches and has some experience of australian pitches. are u saying that Harshit will get more out of australian wickets than Prasidh. Prasidh seems to be coming back in his 140K form , his height helps him to get enough bounce though harshit also gets bounce when he bowls short.  i feel Prasidh will play and harshit will be the 12th Man and Akashdeep has done well to be in the 11 for the Perth test- briefly he has earned his place to be in the 11.

Harshit was being groomed for BGT.  I will be really surprised if he is not there. He displayed good temperament in the IPL final and I trust him more than Prasidh. And we may see both playing later in the series.

Highly unlikely he'll start. Four pacers will be Bumrah, Akash, Siraj and Prasidh

Otherwise they should have taken him on A tour

He was probably not taken in that A tour coz he’s sure to start or at least over those guys in that A tour.
