Now we need a left armer bowling around 145ish. Arshdeep doesnt cut it for me. Ashok, Gurnoor with Bumrah, and one left armer will be deadly

I would take Arsh if he keeps bowling  135 +  with control as he did yesterday. Gives some  positives - Leftie, opening PP bowing to exploit swing if there is ,  defensive bowling at the end which he has lot of experience in T20and most of newbies lack that skill ,  left arm round the wicket angle and Height . Issue with him consistency and pace -sometimes bowls rubbish . SA pitches do provide movement unlike indian pitches, If in 15 /16 based on pitch conditions can be used .

Sushant is quickest...can clock 147-148.

Mukesh Chaudhary is more skillful at 137-144k...really make the ball talk in ODIS..desi Trent Boult.

Mohsin strictly for T20s

I like Prince yadav. He looks hardworking, has just about the right pace. Yet, I feel he is 5=6k's slower than what is needed in today's cricket.

Prince is 129 to 139k...average height . good for IPL teams but not good enough to be considered in the best 5 fast bowlers of INDIA. Mayank is better.

only strength is bit of accuracy specially yorkers.

Gurnoor's  2nd spell today is the only poor spell I have seen from him in ODIs and FC so far.

He is usually a very objective pacer but went through the motions in these 2 overs.

Perhaps the effect of very little gap between his 2 spells in this searing heat and humidity.

May be a change from is stock ball length in his 2nd spell. He was trying to put it little fuller looking at prasidh getting the bounce & movement from good length.

Most of our quicker left armers bowl 135 k to 143 / 144 k in T20s. [ Mukesh C, Arshad, Mohsin, Naman, Khaleel ]

They maybe 130 to 142 k in the longer formats.

Only Sushant Mishra can bowl 135 k to 148 k in T20s. But he is too short and not that accurate yet.

If Mohsin was fit, he would have been good ... but he can barely go through T20 games with energy.

Gurnoor has a good good-length ball and he has used it consistently in this series.

Found the highlights of the match

Great find.

Though there are some spells missing.

Aaron's first over where he clocked 152k.

He was really unlucky that game.

I really miss Aaron's loss for India, he was the first genuinely 150k fast bowler under modern camera.

Umesh was more of 140-145 with peak at 150, Aaron was 143-148 with peak around 153...and he was more passionate about pace than Umesh coz he worked hard to achieve that (for Umesh it came naturally as he was a god gifted athlete.)

Ashok is like Aaron, generates pace courtesy of his release and shoulders. And he combines that with the fitness like Umesh.

Mayank is more like Umesh in terms of action but seems fragile.

what i meant was this pitch has more bounce than usual  indian wicket .  If we see pitch map of Prasidh today, wicket taking delivery were at farther end touching  towards of full length. There were far more overpitched balls by Gurnoor in 2nd spell. Hence looks like tried pushing it up but did not get it right  .Happens with inexperience when you need to change the length from your most preferred way of bowling length of something little different  suddenly . Not so easy to have same control .

In his 4th over, 1st spell, Gurnoor was hitting this fuller side of good length with pace and good lines

But the short break and change of end messed with his rhythm.

Seriously, giving me Hasan Ali type vibes.

Probably on low bounce pitches or on T20s he might be useful...but nowhere suited for ODIs or Tests

That why giving exposure at international level does help in finding which format one fits better . Prince is T20 candidate  no need to try in tests, ODI. And people who look like test prospects should be one to be considered for ODI  -Harshit, Gurnoor, Ashok ,Prasidh.. I think it was good on selectors' part to check him early. Now they should not consider him for ODI and tests .

Where is your superb yorker Gurnoor  ?

You used it so well in your first 2 ODIs and changed lengths so well.

Just bumpers and rising short balls in the 7th over ... too predictable.
