Personally, I am more upbeat about Gurnoor Brar and Ashok Sharma for the time being.

 

Because they have shown the fitness  to bowl regularly and quickly in FC and List A / ODIs. And both want to bowl quickly. 

 

Mayank and Tyagi should try to play as many actual matches as possible. T20Is, FC, List A .... whatever comes their way. Can't really decide about them if they are playing the IPL primarily and odd white ball games here and there. They should be available for selection regularly.

 

P.S .... That does not mean I won't get excited if Mayank and Tyagi are bowling quickly.

Ultimately if 145 kmph pays your bills with IPL contracts while 155 kmph gets you injured - the choice is clear...... Can't blame him or anybody like him.

It's a matter of bowling in rhythm or not doing so. Whether a pacer is running in smoothly and completing his action. If he does he will bowl quicker and reduce injuries too.

 

In this IPL Mayank was regularly clocking 148 k to 151 k, fastest 152 k. 

 

Don't think a bowler can decide the exact speeds he wants to hit.

First saw leader of the " pace attack ", Md.Abbas, bowling faster balls at 119 kph.

 

Then the " real speed merchants " came. And started bowling 10 kph faster than their leader. Grunting and clocking 128 / 130 kph. Then they became even faster and clocked 132 kph occasionally. Just imagine the fear in the minds of the WI batters. 

 

Then, out of nowhere, a " 135 kph thunderbolt " was bowled by someone probably named Khurram.  I was awe-struck. But, sadly, this superhuman effort produced a no-ball. 

 

Then back to 128 kph after this effort.

I dont think Pakistan ever had so many genuine speedsters in their arsenal at any given point. Aaquib Javed and all were just fast medium to medium fast. Kitna hype bana rakha tha

Pakistan has spoiled its bowlers, and now they're facing the brunt of it.

 

Pakistan was lucky that it had decent bowlers in 70s-90s which were greatly aided by ball tempering and the dodgy umpiring. Helped by the fact that Imran actually put a lot of effort in ensuring the bowlers with speed get early selection. Hence likes of Shoaib, Sami etc were motivated to bowl fast.

 

Once thats gone, the performances of fast bowlers took a drop and that passion to motivate bowlers to bend their back and bowl fast stopped. Likes of Riaz, Gul were the last 135-145k bowlers who can sustain that pace for decent amount of time, but the kind of pasting they received, simply failed to inspire any further generation. Yet PCB kept on hyping their bowling attack simply coz they were unable to digest that they are not even second best in Asia.

 

To rectify an issue, one has to understand there is a problem. But PCB & Pooki fans are too egoistic to hear anything aginst their bowlers.

Srinath's problem was he was a proper gentleman in his mind. A genuinely, pure good guy.

 

Hence he didnt had that mentality which will motivate him to threaten or scare the batters with a potential injury against their weak areas, hence even though he was bowling quick, batters weren't scared of him. 

Many Indian pacers in 90s had this issue, their either didnt had pace or didnt had the mentality to go for a kill (not literally). 

 

Bumrah is a gentleman on the field, but in his mind he is a assasin, who won't back out targeting the batters and hence batters are scared off him. Shami is another one who speaks very little but is extremely calculative in his mind.
