Personally, I feel Prasidh, after messing it up for quite some time as you said, has got his pace, bounce, accuracy combo right at last this year. His good length balls used to be floaty. But he is hitting the deck hard at that length now. Much better pitch map for his spells too, hitting the good length off stump regularly at last. Pace is higher. BUT Gurnoor has that X-factor. Can generate pace and bounce on the deadest tracks. And prise out a wicket against the run of play which neither Siraj nor Prasidh can. If the TM cannot see it, they will suffer. This Galle surface has some extra kick in it if a bowler bends his back. Even an unfit Kumara generated some steep bounce on occasions express bowling 1

Prasidh is also good but i feel Gurnoor is more talented and has capability to bowl faster bouncers and hence in the long run gurnoor may be our strike bowler and Prasidh may support him. express bowling 1

Absolutely, still Aus( or any side ),bringing in new pacers in Aus in their summer cricket,it used to be fun, watching new guys coming in bringing in something has its own charm and Aus being Aus they love pace more than anyone else, pretty sure if not for this WTC,ICC every year ,we would have seen much better cricket worldwide Wtc and ICC event every year should be shunned with immediate effect express bowling 1

And you can troll me for giving him some support. But my thought process is .... 1 ) Apart from Gurnoor and Prasidh, we don't have any newish 140 k+ pacers who have the fitness to play test matches at the moment. 2 ) If Prasidh is kicked out, you would have Nabi and Cum-bojh floating the ball up at 125 k. Would you like it ? 3 ) After investing 3 to 4 years in making Prasidh more accurate, would it be prudent to drop him despite him achieving decent accuracy now. ? 4 ) Prasidh is nothing more than a support cast. Gurnoor and Mayank are lead bowler material like Bumrah and Shami. And it angers me if Gurnoor is dropped for support cast. Better to back seamers with some experience if you are just going to play 2.

It's a belter on day 1/2 and offers nothing to spin.

There is a massive vaccum after Bumrah, then Siraj to some extent and then a nothingness....Prasidh & Akashdeep are fillers. Prasidh isnt the brightest star in the sky, but he is a reliable 3rd seamer under specific conditions where bounce plays a key role. Our next gen pacers arent ready yet Mostly because BCCI & ex selectors were busy cheerleading for the batters. Teengunalagaan and express bowling 2

DSP Siraj has a very good inswinger which will get him wickets and Prasidh has a 4th stump bumper off good length which no batsmen can play...no means no one has a answer to that ball which risses of fullish length and kind off bounces till shoulder on 4th stump. Mayank got a zimbabve batsmen out of first ball of a similar ball and Prasidh bowls that kind off ball some times which gets him wickets. i expect our pacers to get wickets each and Manav and jaddu too would get ..kuldeep can get zero wickets if he bowling average or else get 4 wickets.

Prasidh , Harshit and Brar are lon term players , just that Harshit's full fitness is a question mark. when he fully fit he is very close to Mayank yadav- he is very fast , kinda unplayable but his fitness is a question mark like BOOM. Prasidh is also normally not hundred percent fit and can be slow. gurnoor is young and seems a strong lad ..i feel he can have steady fitness.

Bowled more overs and more effective overs than Prasidh in the practice match too. tweaker, JaFanatic and Mosher 3

Max 3-4 years. Gurnoor 26, Harshit 24, Mayank 24, Ashok 24, Tyagi 25...yeah these are young. Can play for 8-10 years.
MK55 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 (edited) Australia lacks pace in their bowling line up besides Starc. Aging unit and their time is up. This is what happens when u don’t build the next gen of fast bowlers. Cummins and co have blocked everyone else for a long time. Anyways they are still ranked number one. Pretty sure they will bounce back in the next. But collective batting and bowling failure caused this. Edited August 16 by MK55 express bowling and singhvivek141 2
vishalvirsingh Posted August 16 Posted August 16 they are talking about making VVS ..director of cricket. is it some kind of joke...? agarkar has done a fairly good job as chairman of selectors, i would have extended his tenure. but if vvs has to get a position ..he should replace gambhir or agarkar , because these 2 guys are holding positions that matter. it seems VVS does not want Gambhir'2s position as it is a position which has its high's and Lows. But i feel BCCI should realise Pub2lic is intelligent enough and you cant fool them. r they interested to pay big salaries to vvs
