Gambhir isn't brave enough to play Gurnoor against Afghanistan or Srilanka.

Even after 10 wicket haul in A match, Gambhir is adamant to play Siraj in the 2nd test

Pseudo xperience rules here,im pretty sure no one is even borderline bold enough to play Gurnoor, you don't have to be bold either, you just need to be practical

Gurnoor cannbe your asset, you need someone after Bumrah to lead you

They see someone as Siraj leading the pack when Bumrah isn't there, when he most of the times bowls like a noob and him with an inconsistent Prasidh makes the pace attack very weak

Unless there is urgency, no one would have played gurnoor with this bowling line-up. Kuldeep is stingless, Jadu is decline and manav is new, they needed 2 exp pacers even then they might have thought if pradish does not bowl well everything will fall back on siraj.

Thats is why whenever there is a suggestion to pick any pacer, we have to keep in mind that Ind plays with 2 pacers in Ind or sc like conditions. There were suggestions to pick nabi can he be 2nd bowler in Ind or sc like conditions?

You can only try new bowler when there are atleast 2 potent bowlers in the line-up

Nasty bounce, fended and OUT !

Prasidh  143.6 k

Prasidh has found his comfort zone in Tests. He is bowling long spells at a decent pace.

Hope selectors dont drag him to T20s.

Need Gurnoor kind of bowler to complement Prasidh..Gurnoor can rattle the batters with nasty short pitch stuff when a partnership gets going and batters look in rythm..

My prefered order of choice for Indian pacers in tests in 2026 / 27 ....

Bumrah

Gurnoor

Prasidh

Arshdeep

Siraj

Harshit .. only at 8 as 4th pacer in NZ

Siraj needs to be phased out.

Get ready for 2027-28

playing just waiting game is a grandpa times strategy

Makes no sense.

TM lacked the courage to pick a young fiery quick who could have rattled the opposition.

It's a tactically poor decision too. This pitch needs hit the deck quick pacers.

They took the safe route to pick a well known name like Siraj.

Siraj needs to shed some weight or develop new tricks...fast bowlers especially from subcontinent start withering away after 32

Still feel he will have a bigger role to play in NZ tests ( wish it was a 3 test series)

Esp when Gurnoor already played in SL for India A test matches against SL A and blown the opposition away with his nasty bowling..

The TM is visionless and spineless to notice and implement it.
