Removed Stokes when he was bowling well and slips were removed early when the new ball was swinging. Dhoni, no declaration. Field set up against Root, which prolly lost us the match.

If Dhoni was made team England captain and Cook team India's captain and asked to have an other game in the same pitch, what will happen. Dhoni will win with bowlers like Anderson/Broad. I think Cook is more defensive than Dhoni,
adi B Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Very close,cook was semi defensive in the 1st innings(by his standards),but was super defensive and pathetic in the second innings especially when u want to create most pressure on two new batsmen. Dhoni was vintage in I.e allowing a getaway to the english tail zillionth time but what the decisive factor might be to adjudge who was super defensive is the last wkt stand.I mean 180 odd runs partnership and 81 runs for Anderson lol

It doesn't require a broad or an Anderson to pick Anderson's wkt

It doesn't require a broad or an Anderson to pick Anderson's wkt You are not getting the point, Cook has Broad and Anderson these guys look wicket taking even in this lifeless pitch. Anderson especially was terrific, miles better than our guys. Dhoni is pathetic but Cook is even worse, he let Bhuv Kumar score two 50's let Binny save the test, too many. But Dhoni is running him very close. Yet i think Cook is even more defensive in his field setting..
