Bhuvis technique defintetely looks better than jaddu' date='dhoni and dhawan for sure.....infact more than technique it's temperament....so valid poll......now I always believed dhoni for all the criticism he gets had never a of steel and a solid temperament but clearly it is no longer there in test cricket.[/quote'] Dhoni never had much technique anyway... and his defence has always been poor. But do we even have a sample size to make this comparison? Let Bhuvi play some 30-40 odd innings and then we will see how consistent he can be. It's not that he has set the domestic FC matches on fire with this batting - has only one 100 in 70 odd innings. And he does not necessarily come at No.9 there, he has batted as No.6 in Ranjis as well.

Bhuvi was the difference between a low total and a below par score already 2 times In this series....now just see how dhoni has been playing in the last few overseas series he was the main reason to trigger our collapse many times .it has reached a point of being shameful now. Jaddus brainless batting already cost us 2 tests as I have mentioned in one of the threads before. Technique doesn't have to be a text book stance,etc....temperament is the most important thing for forget a cricketer any semi-decent sportsman. To add insult to injury dhoni is rightfully known as a guy who can win u games from any situation in a odi setting.....but the way he plays in tests it's totally baffling......the surprising thing is he even plays a wait and watch game in t20 lol.....don't know what to make of it. I know it's premature to compare the 2,I get ur point, but on current form Bhuvi,he'll even binny>dhoni in batting.

anderson has been way better than cook in recent 4 tests. but a poll asking whether cook or anderson is a better batsman will look foolish rite?

Technically Bhuvi is alot better equipped to handle tough conditions than MSD. On flat overseas Dhobi edges it.
On flat conditions dhoni can run away with the game, doubt Bhuvi can do that but yes Bhuvi can score on pattas too and is overall a better equipped bat than MSD

Except Cook has been one of the best before his dip in form. Dhoni has been same and particularly poor overseas

Cook opens the innings while Anderson is a Tailenders. Huge difference in batting conditions... While Dhobi and Bhuvi bat in pretty much similar conditions... Only Jaddu's quick wicket separates them... :dontknow:

Not a good comparison. You are missing the point. We are not compareing absolute scores here. Kohli has failed also here. Nobdy is comparing Bhuvi with Kohli. We are talking about how comfortable both play when the ball is jagging around. dhoni has time and again proved any slight deviation means he is a fish out of the water. On the same pitch Kumar played with absolute ease.

what i meant is bhuvi just played 1 innings of 36 (last test both played well and was an SC kind of wicket. so am not considering that. before this series, bhivis avg is around 10) and is that enough to be compared against a person with 4500 test runs?

Bhuvi has just done well in one and half Tests. As I have pointed out, he has done jack in FCs where every Tom, Dick and Harry gets a 50+ average nowadays, so there is no evidence of he being temperamentally superb or being on another planet. It's the same mentality of making one of our bowlers looking like a world-beater the moment he takes a fiver in his first 5 Tests. I know Dhoni is no crack overseas Test player and is pretty ordinary. But Bhuvi is also just starting out, and had only scored 2 fifties on a flat track where even Dhoni got a fifty. Let Bhuvi 'consistently' be among the runs before we can even pretend to make a comparison. In all probability, Dhoni will outscore Bhuvi by about 50 runs in this series itself. P.S. Can't believe I am taking Dhoni's side for something but ICF has its bizarre ways :giggle:

Bhuvi batted well n looked assured at the pitch I suppose.. But too soon to call him a good batsman...if he performs like this often then he might enter our Indian all rounder category..:two_thumbs_up:

It doesnt matters how much experienced Dhobi is in Test cricket, if i've put my faith in either Dhobi or Bhuvi to save a test match innings abroad, i'd go for Bhuvi, simply because he has decent technique, temperament, application, attitude and above all, yet to hate Test cricket...

This has to be the OTT thread of the decade. When I opened this thread in the morning, it was 22-0 for Bhuvi till I made it 22-1. Two 50s and Bhuvi is now better than Dhoni, one more fifty and then he'll be better than Dhawan I am sure! Bleddy nonsense to the power infinity. Maybe Anderson is better at home than Prior as well.
++1 forum is infested with trolls who hate dhoni for one single reason :((
