undisputed chap Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Nothing unusual. Beast at home, squeaky little rat abroad. Typical FTB, over rated, hyped to be an ATG before he even played for 5 years. Couple of years ago, it was Gambhir, wasn't it?, that was slated to be the next best ever by Indians. I don't even know what happened to that chap now. true. Rat is by far the most overrated batsman. A beast at odis but a hack at test level like dhoni, raina, yuvi, etc. He should stick to bashing lungans on flat pitches in the SF.
CG Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 he did well in sa and nz and aus,its just matter of time he comes good.

He is already better than those Lankan FTBs..and Gambhir averages 45 in test cricket.
putrevus Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Kohli needs to show up for last two tests Kohli has to come to party, he has been sleeping walking so far in this series. He has looked circumspect maybe because leaving the ball does not come naturally to him so rather than trying to graft his innings he needs to play his natural game. Ricky Ponting should be an ideal batsmen for Kohli to emulate instead of grafting the innings he counter attacked most of time with great results.I think Kohli should do the same. Kohli and Pujara have to provide the spine for this batting so far both of them have failed .Pujara's formula of waiting out the bowlers does not seem to work. His approach unless he cashes in on his starts puts so much pressure back on to the team as innings go nowhere. Pujara seems to have issues of picking a straighter one from offspinner. We can discuss dhoni and his captaincy all we want but if these two don't make big scores India's chances of winning the series is greatly reduced.
cowboysfan Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 people were scoffing at me before after the first test when i suggested Kohli has lost form but now it has become apparent that he plays too much LOI cricket,he will never be a good test player if he dosent work on his game especially his judgement outside off.
putrevus Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 people were scoffing at me before after the first test when i suggested Kohli has lost form but now it has become apparent that he plays too much LOI cricket' date='he will never be a good test player if he dosent work on his game especially his judgement outside off.[/quote'] He had good tours both in NZ and SA he has scored 100s every where he has played except WI.He needs couple of big scores to get his confidence. He is too good a player not to do that.
YCCC Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I hope he does something before the tour end. I've never had the chance to see him bat until now and want to see what all the fuss is about. Would like to see a classic innings from him in the ODI at Headingley if possible
vvvslaxman Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 If he tries to play like Murali vijay he will fail again. He just should get behind. The line and play straight cutting out his off side shots. He has so many shots. Shouldn't be a problem cutting out risky shots.
CSK Fan Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 No way he would show up for this test. It is not a dead rubber yet
vamos_rafa Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 He would surely score a match defining knock in this test.
undisputed chap Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Don't worry he will score a useless 50 & you lot can go back to claiming how he is the best in the world.
peterparker Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 maximum 40-70, depending on other factors. his weakness is getting exposed now, misses the off stump line.
mishra Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Forget about century, our batters needs to learn how to play one complete session without throwing their wicket.
undisputed chap Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 kohli is turning out to be another gambhir pokemon
The Realist Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Kohli is not going to do anything in this series, is totally out of form and confidence.
Sachinism Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Could do with a rest, unfortunately the replacement batsman is Nohit :(( Don't know about giving Naman a game at this stage...
Tiger80 Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I used to think Kohli was best batsman along with ABD
putrevus Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Both Pujara and Kohli have been extremely disappointing, disgusted with their batting. Kohli it is nice to have attitude only if you are good but if you are weak like you are that attitude will bring to down very quickly.
