rkt.india Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Maybe he didnt want to bowl bouncer.I saw that he was hitting the bat higher than normal with his good length deliveries too. I'm pretty sure if he's told to bowl bouncers like Ishant was,he can do it. even Ishant was called poor with bouncers not too long ago It is not about bouncers. He lengths or short of length balls should get more bounce like Woakes and Anderson got yesterday.
Lord Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 It is not about bouncers. He lengths or short of length balls should get more bounce like Woakes and Anderson got yesterday. That might be due to seam position. Its not consistent.Though as I said,he was hitting the bat high in first spell
rkt.india Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 That might be due to seam position. Its not consistent.Though as I said' date='he was hitting the bat high in first spell[/quote'] His seam position was good which is why he was getting good outswing.
Lord Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 His seam position was good which is why he was getting good outswing. It was scrambled at times.
rkt.india Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 It was scrambled at times. scrambled seam was intentional. I had already told you that in match thread. That is his variation. He does not have an inswinger like BK, has good outswing so for variation he bowls with that scrambled seam so that is goes straight. It is more of a fast off cutter and he got the edge of cook on that kind of delivery which was dropped.

rkt.india Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 yes but that might stop him from getting bounce.Hes not floating the ball so I'm not sure why hes not getting the bounce. He does not do it time to time. He did get extra bounce on Cook one with that seam.
Lord Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 He does not do it time to time. He did get extra bounce on Cook one with that seam. Yes,so the issue is consistency.I'm sure he can work on it
express bowling Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Cannot compare Pankaj and Ishant. Thing with Ishant is he has been really bad since 2011 England tour till NZ tour for about 3 years and everyone asked for his head. But a good Ishant is better than most Indian pacers in test matches and a bad Ishant is worse than club level bowlers. We want a good Ishant because when he is good he can run through batting lineups. Very well stated. Ishant is Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde.. :cantstop:
express bowling Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 It was disappointing to see Pankaj run out of steam for the whole of the 2nd day. He looked tired and was bowling 7/8 k slower than day 1. Getting less bounce too. Unless he was sick or something, it should not happen st 29. He looked like a different bowler on day 2.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 FirstpostSports @FirstpostSports 1m The 179 runs conceded by Pankaj Singh in this Test are the most by a bowler on debut without taking a wicket.
Lord Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 FirstpostSports @FirstpostSports 1m The 179 runs conceded by Pankaj Singh in this Test are the most by a bowler on debut without taking a wicket. feel sad for him:((
Laaloo Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Well it was nice knowing you Pankaj Singh. you will be known as Pankaj Udas now. Have a wonderful career.
Yoda-esque Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Like I said , the best bowler according to ICF experts is the one on the bench. Who's next? Varun?
Marco Polo Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Don't worry people. He will be dropped for ishanth Sharma next match.
gaurav92 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 He is a good bowler, needs to be persisted with. He was unlucky to be wicketless. He bowled a few poor deliveries, but bowled some peaches too. I hope he is not dropped and is taken to more tours and gets to play more games. He is a good prospect for future :nice:
coffee_rules Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Yes, he is good...he almost got 2 wickets on I1. He will be dropped for T4 with ISS back.
