Everything else followed from there. I am not saying this with the benefit of hindsight. Some of us knew what was coming as soon as it was announced that they were playing with 3 bowlers and a part timer. To make things worse the captain cool displayed his stupidity by asking Jadeja to bowl negatively on the first day itself when England were scoring slowly anyway. That one takes the cake. Drop catches and poor batting are also responsible but the captain set the tone. :facepalm:

We win when we try aggressive approach, Jadeja and Ishant last time When the same thing repeats with different players every series, captain needs to be blamed!
Switchblade Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Have given away the advantage and momentum to England after Lords it was a perfect chance to go 2-0 up but with a pathetic captain who has no clue how to lead overseas and his obsession with bits&pieces players costed us this match.The worst part was including a joke mentally weak player like Rohit :wall:.

Identity 6-7 and stick to them. So many of them have debuted for us in recent years but none lasts. Likes of RP, Munaf, Sreesanth with Ishant should have been our leading pacers right now having great starts, but fell away. So, again we needed to look at others. We will never build a good experienced attack if this cycle continues.

Also new bowlers should grab the chances and take 1-2 wickets in the opportunities given to make some impact. Looks like Shami is going that route, unless he realises the problem and fix it.

David Warner is prime example he did not even play FC cricket but after his IPL and T20 exploits he got a chance in test team and he ran away with it, His problems were mostly off the field issues which held him back. On other opposite side you have guy like Shami who looks lazy and unfit for 24 yr old which itself says a lot about his mental conditioning and desire to excel. There was guy like Kapil Dev who till his retirement was one of fittest bowlers even without all these facilities.

One thing i blame dhoni for is poor team selection look at this test he went with pankaj who is more close to sami/bhuvan than aaron. Not saying aaron would have done better than pankaj but he is different just adds a different dimension.

Didn't even play Bhuveneswar. How is that attacking? It is the same story as here

Winning and losing , both are very normal things. Complete lack of accountability is not. It is not really a question of whether Dhoni deserves to be blamed .... It is an issue of "even if he is responsible for continuous losses, he will still stay ".

They will be more consistent and remain less injury prone.

It is not about injuries but attitude and hunger. Every fast bowlers gets injured. You cannot be a fast bowler without injuries. Greatest pacers have had serious injuries, came back, and did well. RP, Munaf, Sreesanth, Ishant all 4 came around 2005-2007 period. Only Ishant is still here because he has right attitude. He might have lacked the ability but effort has always been there. RP, Munaf, Sreesanth all were better alround bowlers than him, but could not last due to their own mental fragility, lack of effort, and complacency.

We aren't whitewashed, just 2-1 behind with a test to play. Jeez Australia was mopping the ground post retirement of the great, they were losing ashes left right and center, they even got whitewashed by us. But did they press panic button? No. Dhoni can do only with the resources he has. I realized one thing about us Indian cricket fans. We are number one as holes. What were we expecting? This team to whitewash England? Lol. Give them a break, give them some time. Seriously pathetic etuff from us.
