T20: not a single senior player should play this joke of a format. Leave it to India A. ODI: some of the test players, such as kohli, who are well suited to this format should play along with some of the more stable T20 players Test: exclusive test team with only some players also featuring in ODIs. They should be paid a salary to keep away from IPL and all other nonsensical leagues, and rather they should play the Australian domestic season or county cricket. T20 -Uthappa -Gambhir -Samson -Raina * -S Khan -Rayudu -Ashwin -B Kumar -P Kumar -V Kumar -Chahal (I know I said I wasn't going to add test players to the T20 squad, but three Kumar's would add some confusion to the umpires, opponents and commentators. Maybe Bhuvi could bowl an extra over for Vinay without anyone noticing) ODI -Uthappa -Dhawan -Kohli -Raina -S Khan -MSD * -Jadeja -Ashwin -B Kumar -Yadav -M Shami Test -Vijay -Chand -Pujara * -Kohli -Rahane -Saha -Jadeja -B Kumar -I Pandey -Aaron -Yadav

Yes we can't let him continue on the T.i.n.a factor but still who should we gamble with as the next captain? Kohli has looked impressive in Asia cup but then again dhoni is ok for Lois....unfortunately we can't even say get a young guy to be the loi captainc to groom him for tests because tests are the biggest problem to begin with.

Unless you think kohli's captaincy will be worse than Dhonis you cannot say TINA. Secondly captaincy is not handed to you based on assumptions . You just give the next guy in line. Thirdly captaincy requires certain degree of accountability.

No fair enough and I agree with you,if you know I am one of the biggest proponents of dhoni quitting his captaincy for atleast the last 3 years now but here is the thing, Is kohli the option....the guy is an option in odi and t20 for sure ....but in tests he still is not eastablished.....not just going by this series but his overall test record which is not that great. Don't misinterpret that I am saying he is a failure in tests,we have high expectations from him as the next big batting god keeping with our tradition .you don't want to burden him when he is still getting his feet wet at the test level. He is already a atg at the odi level but we need him to take his game to the next level in tests as well. I

Was dhoni setting the world ablaze in test cricket he took over? He was captain of 'ODIs. He just took over.

If we continue to fail to win this series then we would be better off to change captain factoring that we have lost to England at home, haven't won one series outside Asia in last few years and even after giving Dhoni a long run and support during consistent failure in test series results he could not show better results. Even after having a series against a team in transition and woefully out of form players, leading 1-0 we allowed them to draw the series so far. If we cannot win this then i would not mind if Dhoni is replaced. He's got enough support in tough times. Time for wins now after so much has happened since he took test captaincy.

someone Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Well, the issue shouldn't be Dhoni should be captain or not? But should Dhoni be in the test team or not? That's the bigger issue. And his stats, form, skills all point to one thing, that Dhoni should not be in our test team at all. But, Dhoni will always be in the test team due to his stature so the only solution left is retirement. We should demand Dhoni to retire from tests.
