Making changes isn't to help all that much. The batsmen need to play like they did in the 2nd Test on a green top and apply themselves, bat with application instead of playing low percentage shots. Bowling is definitely a problem. With Ishant out, Bhuvi tiring, Shami bowling mediocre it's going to be extremely difficult to bowl out England now that guys like Cook/Bell have form with the bat. Ashwin probably has to come in, not because he deserves it, but because we've run out of wicket taking options.

It all started in the first test. Continued in the 2nd test. Culminated in the 3rd test. Just to say this dialogue "We did not use 5th bowler" he underused and other bowlers fell victim for that.

So let me understand what he says... "We didn't used the 5th bowler".... Which means he's implying that the 5th bowler was of no use as whatever chance he was given, he didn't took any wickets.... Hence he went for 4 bowlers in the next match (which is effectively 2.5 bowlers).... What a scheming basturd he is... And he has the temerity say all this in public?, nobody questions him?

Getting out to spinners is not something which is new for this team. They even got out to Duminy and Robin Pieterson in SA series as well and mostly threw their wickets away. They get over confident against part timers and they look to over attack them when they don't score against seamers. This is an aspect which they have to work on and not something which should be brushed aside lightly.

Ashwin should come in for sure...with the number of lefties in England, it is worth a punt...and I doubt if the newbies like Ballance,Robson,Butler,Moeen,Jordan have faced carrom balls much...some surprise factor will be there...he will also be more effective against tail where we have faced problems....slip catching will be better as a bonus... He can come in place of Rohit or Jadeja or one of the pacers ( Shami??) depending on the pitch... Flat pitch - In place of Shami...no point of having 3 mediocre seamers on flat pitch and tire them...better to have Ashwin who has experience of atleast controlling runs and can bowl long spells Seaming/Swinging pitch - In place of Rohit or Jadeja From whatever we have seen of Dhoni so far, he will have ego problem dropping Rohit after just one match ( to be fair none of our batsmen bar Vijay and Rahane have done anything great so far so Rohit need not be singled out ) and Jadeja is well ...Jadeja ( undroppable)...So Shami goes out... I can't see any other changes from Dhoni...Dhawan will stay as he has improved a bit in 2nd innings and too risky to get a raw Gambhir in...

The reason we lost the Test is not because of our bowlers but batsmen...This was a true pitch and deserved 450+ by both team in first innings and 300+ in second innings i.e a true draw pitch barring collapses by either team...None of our batsmen scored big in either innings... Yes we let them score 570/7 but we should have scored 450 and the draw was there...
