But for me, he comes across as someone intelligent and shows fighting character. Also he can bowl and bat, so his place is not a worry even in non-helpful conditions. Also being part of CSK, srini mama will back him too. So after Dhoni gives up tets captaincy , Ashiwn should be our next captain. Of course GG should have been our current captain ,but I dont see him coming back to team in the first place with Dhoni at the helm , so we should groom Ashwin for captaincy.
vvvslaxman Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Not talking about Ashwin. But this mandatory requirement of batsmen or bowlers to be in form to earn the captaincy is ridiculous. Pujara may be out of form. Doesn't mean he deserve the captaincy any less than before.

Dhoni is going nowhere before the WC.Even he averages 20 with the bat this year and loses the next 9 tests we have this year,it will all be a joke to him
