Also selectors are there for going beyond stats and using their PERCEPTION to decide who will make it in the international level. If it was all about stats and numbers and overseas and home runs, a computer with a specific criteria given can do the best job. Anyone who has seen Rahane would know that he is one for the future. I like him as an opener.But in middle order he seems to get stuck as he's not that great vs spin. Jadhav would have been a better selection.Guy top scores in Ranji season,has a great List A average and did great in recent Aus tour,but still not selected :((

One can only imagine what will happen to him in bouncy tracks in aus & nz where the wc will be held. Oh wait we already know what happens to him in aus, he becomes a tailender or were you sleeping all the while.

I did comment on the other forum many times that if Rahane plays he should open or NOT play at all. Sucks all the momentum when coming at No 4.

I don't know how he would perform in Aus but he deserves to be in the WC squad. A very under rated Indian batsman.

Mohit a good bowler but bk too? rather have kulkarni and umesh. shami is struggling

He is working on his short ball issues he is a dependable bat in middle order better than dhoni.

I don't know how he would perform in Aus but he deserves to be in the WC squad. A very under rated Indian batsman. But raina is effective only when you need some quick runs when the game has already been set up by the other batsmen. Do you expect rohit / dhawan / rayudu to consistently set up the platform regulary ? We desparately needed someone like jadhav who can accelerate for a longer period at 4/5 to set up the game for dhoni / raina / jadeja.
