Lord Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 THIS. We lost the test when Captain Cool won the toss and decided to insert a struggling batting line-up in the best bowling conditions of the summer. yeah best bowling conditions where Dhoni made 70 coming in the 5th over
Gunner Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 yeah best bowling conditions where Dhoni made 70 coming in the 5th over He had more edges than runs :giggle: Dhoni making 70 doesn't mean conditions weren't bowling friendly.
Lord Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 He had more edges than runs :giggle: Dhoni making 70 doesn't mean conditions weren't bowling friendly. It is.He never lasts that long in bowling friendly conditions It was swinging but was normal stuff you expect openers to see off.But batting was too pathetic
sensible-indian Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Dhoni's decision to bat first was right. The idea was to pile up the runs and use the scoreboard pressure for the Eng first innings and spin threat (due to pitch deterioration) for the Eng 2nd innings. Our batting couldn't even see off the first hour without too much trouble.
sensible-indian Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 My XI: Vijay Chepu Rahane (the position he plays in Ranji) Kohli Binny Dhoni Ashwin Jaddu Bhuvi Aaron Ishant (who will be back by then) If you are going to get whacked, atleast get whacked trying something new. I would rather go for Binny the batsman instead of a "walking wicket" opener. If the pitch is a flat track, then I would go for Dhawan.
Laaloo Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 THIS. We lost the test when Captain Cool won the toss and decided to insert a struggling batting line-up in the best bowling conditions of the summer. Batting first was the correct decision. Unfortunately our top order had other plans
vijay50 Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Andersons tail is up. He can finish India along with Moen. We need Binny in this match to whack Moen.
King Tendulkar Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 yes batting first was correct call. Game over in 3 days:hysterical: Even with the beauty of hindsight some still making the ****ing wrong call:cantstop: Next they will say was still right call to play 2 spinners on most seam friendly conditions of the series
The Realist Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 My team: Captain Phillips Coach donut T Penney J Dawes Friends of above who are "backroom staff" Dhoni's bedroom bouncers
FischerTal Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 My team: Captain Phillips Coach donut T Penney J Dawes Friends of above who are "backroom staff" Dhoni's bedroom bouncers So joe Dawes does exist? I thought he was some mythical creature
undisputed chap Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Even if we field an 18 man team we will still lose unless the basic issues are addressed
brendan07 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 1 Rahane 2 Vijay 3 Gambhir/Dhawan 4 Pujara 5 Kohli © 6 Rohit 7 Ashwin 8 Oijha (wk) 9 BK 10 Aaron 11 Yadav Let me get this straight....lets promote Kholi to captain the side after his brilliant series :hysterical:
Detonator Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 In last 2 tests Mooli has failed. And in 4th test Rahane failed too. It's too much to expect from them, they both can't score tons in every match. They have done very good in this series so far. If they could step up in the 5th test, and if pujara clicks we have a chance to draw atleast. If Kohli or any one of the other bats step up, we have a chance to win given that our bowlers perfrom like in the first two tests.
King Tendulkar Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Let me get this straight....lets promote Kholi to captain the side after his brilliant series :hysterical: Yep has great 2 years and has right attitude we need as skipper. Plus anyone who is not corrupt will do for me. If judging captaincy purely on players stats, then that makes case for Dhoni to go unstoppable If not happy with Kohli then have rahane as scoring all the runs, you cant object to him as he is having brilliant series and that's your criteria. If not him BK. Anyone but Mr Loser

Sooda Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 What is RP. Singh upto these days ? Guzzling on aloo paratha
bowl_out Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 My XI: Vijay Chepu Rahane (the position he plays in Ranji) Kohli Binny Dhoni Ashwin Jaddu Bhuvi Aaron Ishant (who will be back by then) Dhoni wasn't even ready to play five bowlers, and you are telling him to play 6 :hysterical:
ShebbySB Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 If Umesh Yadav is available for selection pick him... Dhawan Vijay Pujara Kohli Rahane Dhoni Ashwin BK Aaron Umesh Ishant
