India will have a tough time during Australia tour, reckons Glenn McGrath Australian pace legend Glenn McGrath feels that India will have a tough time during its upcoming tour of Australia at the end of this year after their disastrous show in England. "I think Indians are going to have a very tough time in Australia. Last time, when the two teams met, it was in India and we lost 0-4. But we have come a long way since then," McGrath told a leading news channel on Monday. McGrath feels that this same England team were thrashed 5-0 by the Aussies during the last Ashes, so one could gauge what exactly would be in store for India. "Australia has also defeated this same England squad 5-0 last year in the Ashes. So now you can well understand that how much tough it can be for India playing over there," he opined. While talking about the Test debacle, McGrath said,"The present team needs to do a lot of hard work. I don`t think that there is a single problem, there are a lot, so they need to fix the basics." "Though the bowlers did a formidable job, the fielding completely failed. You cannot miss so many catches and think that you can put the opposition under pressure. The bowlers created a lot of opportunities, but obviously getting no results out of that brings frustration." And above all the batting line failed completely which made the other players lose the confidence," he said. :vroam:

To be fair to the Poms, this isn't exactly the same team that we flogged to an extent. However their true test will come next year during the Ashes and against South Africa .

I think the only question to be answered is: how many games can we avoid innings defeats?

Unless there is a drastic change in the attitude of Indian players, a series white wash ( with probably 2-3 massive innings defeats) looks inevitable. Mitch will be all over the batsmen and he could repeat his series average (13 odd) against England.

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: If our great team can take any Test in Aus to day 4...it should be considered our victory. The 1st Test in Australia has a high chance of the best Indian performance on that tour...with the 4th Test being on track to be our worst & baring weather should be over in 2 and a bit days (unless Aus bats pile on...then bat again..thereby forcing day 4 or 5)

Could be worse actually. Aussie bowling is superior to Poms. India may struggle to post totals in excess of 300 in any first innings and over 200 in any second innings. If Kohli/Pujara find the form they had in SA, we may do better.

kohli is deadmeat if he cant sort his weakness and pujara too. Aussies will hit those bowling lines all day indipper for pujara and away swinger for kohli.
