Who would you have as coach?

Why don't make Dhoni coach as well? He is already Captain, WK, Main Batsman, Occasional Seam Bowler. Additional responsibility of coach will fire him up more and he would have complete control on the process.

The more I think about it, the more I don't want a coaching change. Fletcher has been poor, no doubt. But I'm afraid the BCCI might make someone like Shastri the coach.

dravid and zaheer khan will be the best possible options for india. but I doubt both are willing to take up coaching job at this stage. martin crowe will be a good option to help our batsmen improve on seaming pitches. he was the best when it comes to handling swing/seam. not sure if he is willing though. craig mcdermott will be a good option for bowling coach. he has applied for SL main coach position. So i guess he is available. jason gillespe is another option for bowling coach if he is willing to move from yorkshire but the most important thing is not to replace the coach alone. but the full coaching unit + captain.

I would say Kumble as head coach,aamre batting,ta shekher as bowling and jonty as fielding coach would be really good.

Tendulkar anyone? I am all for it Reasons: 1)No one commands more respect amongst young players than him. 2)Mentally the toughest player ever from India and can rub few of his temperamental skills to the young players. 3)Can a great batting guide for our young players.

would want an Indian as a coach & think Bangar desrves to interview for that role.. he won 3 ranji trophies with a weak Railways team/ almost won the IPL with Kings X1 if BCCI wants a foreign coach, I heard Paul Collingwood is doing a great job as a coach.. another person who made the most of his talents

We donr need coaches at the highest level. We can specialised coaches for battibg, fielding etc but these guys are already strong in basics. Or purported to be, otherwise they wouldn't be playing national cricket. What we need are. Man managers.

I think we very much need a coach that makes sure the basics are done right. He cannot make Indians players catch a cricket ball. But he can make sure slips are not standing too far back. He can make sure distance between slips is appropriate. He can make sure the team is working on shining the ball. There are numerous examples like these which show the complete absence of cricketing basics.
