SRT100 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 In fairness to Jadeja he is an absolute gun of a bowler in ODI and has produced the odd brilliant batting performance when he comes in. Remember that battiing performance in NZ in the ODI when chasing? Pathan needs to focus on getting his body right, then needs to get wickets and score runs consistently, then and only then should be considered. Even then he needs to bowl over 130km/hr, there is no point taking to Australia a bowler who is bowling around 120. Yuvraj cost us the World T20, we cannot afford to carry a player in the hope that he might perform and do well.
Texan Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I will play him as 4th seamer on conducive surfaces in WC as an alrounder. Yup, if he is in decent form. As it is, bowlers are going to get hammered... so might as well have a bowler that can bat.
putrevus Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Pathan was just victim of over expectations, guy like binny had no pressure even he knew he was useless so whatever he did was bonus.
bowl_out Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 With World Cup around, everyone wants to make a comeback
G_B_ Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 unfortunately India have so many seaming allrounder options that Irfan can force his way back Binny Dhawan are the only other names i can think of.
Vilander Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 If he bowls well then his batting will be bonus. he can do what shami does and bat better.
undisputed chap Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 unfortunately India have so many seaming allrounder options that Irfan can force his way back Binny Dhawan are the only other names i can think of. Binny is more of a part time bowler then an all rounder honestly. Dhawan is just not good enough yet. Irfan seems past his best & always gets injured at inappropriate time. Though he if he had been fit he could have been of better value then jadeja in australia in tests.
tweaker Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I rate Rishi Dhawan over him.If he has a good Ranji season he is most likely to make debut in the Indian team He should have been in the England on virtue of being the highest wicket taker in the Ranji last season in place of Binny
Cricket_Hacker Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Doesnt he play for the 2nd division?
rkt.india Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 In fairness to Jadeja he is an absolute gun of a bowler in ODI and has produced the odd brilliant batting performance when he comes in. l. Only when pitches assist him. He did nothing in SA and NZ ODIs.
rkt.india Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Doesnt he play for the 2nd division? No, Baroda is in first division.
Cricket_Hacker Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 No' date=' Baroda is in first division.[/quote'] Rishi Dhawan

Bowling 123-125 kph is useless unless you have banana swing.
King Tendulkar Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 People still believe in crapthan:hysterical:
kosingh Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Each time Pathan is dropped (and he has been dropped a 100 times), after a while I always wish he was back. And each time he comes back, he disappoints. This guy really could have been a very good bowling all rounder. But he does not have the fitness, the temperament or the will to succeed.

Nope he was just never good enough. Lollipop trundle and tree hacker with bat Possibly most over rated and most over hyped cricketer in Indian cricket history. Despite constant failures and patheticness you still have fans saying we need him back, o if only fit:giggle: Please don't show me the ball he got gilly with and hatrick against pakis as some kind of evidence:hysterical:
G_B_ Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 India have some tough decisions to make in Aus. Both Ash and Sir cant play based on previous experience. Maybe we need 6 batsman---Ashwin/Sir---4 proper front-line seamers this means depending on the top 6 to deliver. Cant carry any passengers or out of form players in there
