vvvslaxman Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 People were over hyping this flat track bully. Some said he should be test captain. Some also say he should be in the ODI team long back. This guy is nothing but a flat track bully with a big technical glitch. Can't even score against div 2 trundlers. :finger:

G_B_ Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 This just highlights that maybe che needs to be a bit more positive in his approach? Let the bowlers sweat rather than them bowling to you. Be positive. Go a bit more for your shots in the test arena. The pitch by the sounds of it was not a patta.

But if Pujara doesn't feel comfortable with it, he has to stick to his strategy. Weather the storm and blow the opposition away after facing 100 balls.
diga Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 one more match to go for county season to end... Hopefully he will bat long enough there
ThePhenomenal1 Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 YES! just went through 2nd page of this thread and saw small scores, thought he got out then pleasantly surprised to see 50 then 90! Well done pujara, finally struck some form. More positive approach has helped, he just needs to use this and bat in tests only. Forget LOIs!
G_B_ Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Ideally that is the right strategy. But if Pujara doesn't feel comfortable with it, he has to stick to his strategy. Weather the storm and blow the opposition away after facing 100 balls. I personally think in todays era a batsman should aim to maintain a strike rate of 50. Thats 3 runs per over. Now obviously there will be times when the bowling is good. There will be times when the bowling is bad and you just have to put away from terrible balls. But on the whole as far as the career goes a strike rate of 50 is just about right for somebody like che. He does score much quicker of the spinners than the seamers. It might just be that a more attack minded Rahane is better slotted in at 3 with Che at 4.
