+1 I don't see how Azhar could be blamed for Kambli.

I dont remember exact details but as far as my memory goes Kambli was never supported by Azhar. When he hit the purple patch every time he went to bat, it was his last game. If he failed he will be dropped. I could never understand why a batsman like Kambli was allways living on the knife edge. The ONLY noteworthy ICC tournament knocks by Ganguly are the 183 vs SL 1999 WC, 117 vz NZ CT 2000 and 117* vs England CT 2002. The other 3 tons Ganguly scored were against Namibia x1 and Kenya x2 in the 2003 WC. Which is the 7th ton? Also, when you compare Ganguly to Yuvraj, you need to understand that Ganguly was an opener.

you missed 141 vs saf in 2000 CT sf.u cant downplay the 2 tons he scored vs kenya because they were high profile matches and in one match we were struggling at 24/3 after 11 chasing 226 so his ton was very important. i am a big fan of yuvi and tbf we cant/shouldnt compare an opener with a middle order batsman,both were equally VALUABLE to the team but having watched both play the game,i believe ganguly was the better odi "batsman"

I would go with Yuvraj for three reasons - (1) Better SR, (2) Better fielder and (3) Better running between the wickets. Ganguly is one the great India's LOI batsman.

If we are talking as an overall player then both are equal IMO bcoz Ganguly was the better batsman and a great captain while Yuvi was the better bowler and far better fielder and he stepped up and performed in some of our greatest wins. There wasnt much space for Kambli during Dada. Competition was tough and he was allmost out of the team.

Agree with this. As a batsman alone Ganguly is slightly ahead but as players both equal taking bowling and fielding into consideration. Also Ganguly and Yuvi are our greatest performers in ICC tournaments imo
