Tendulkar autobiography

I wonder who was the guy batting at the other end when Laxman scored 281 in probably India's most remembered Test of the current century? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored the match-winning double hundred coming in to bat on the second ball of the first over that led us to victory in the final Test against Pak in Pak for our first ever series win there? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored two fifties in the final Test in WI in 2006 when no other Indian batsman got a single fifty, which resulted in us winning a Test series in WI for the first time in 35 years? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored a match-winning double hundred and followed it up with an unbeaten half-century to chase down a target and get India it's first Test win on Australian soil in 22 years? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored 148 & 81 in the final Test of his first tour of SA that almost led to an Indian win there (we fell two wickets short on the final day)? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who set up the Headingley Test in 2002 in extremely trying conditions that allowed subsequent batters to score heavily (when conditions eased out a bit) that resulted in India winning by an innings on foreign soil? :hmmmm2:
During the period from 2002-2006, India's most prized wicket was Rahul Dravid. With Ganguly as a Test captain, Dravid averages 102 in 21 Test wins - no other captain in the history of Test cricket has had such a player for him. You actually missed a couple of underrated Dravid innings. Wankhede Test 2004 31* of 104balls. Check the next highest scorer and the number of balls Indian batsman faced. :D http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64102.html 110 and 135 at Eden Gardens v Pakistan without which India may have even lost the Test series considering what happened in Bangalore. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64126.html

The thing about Ganguly was, when he struggled - he struggled big time. For example, the 1st ODI of the Australia tour of India in 2001. Tendulkar was basically going hammer & tongs until Laxman ran him out. The captain aggressive Ganguly scores 6 of 27balls. Despite that, India reach to 315 - thanks to Sehwag and Dahiya at the end. That ultimately proved to be too much for Australia because had the score been around 280s Australia were on track until Hayden/S Waugh were adjudged LBW on dodgy decisions. There are other instances too. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64706.html On topic, I am not sure how many people remember Tendulkar being run out by Laxman's poor running and Tendulkar having a go at Laxman. I can't find the video of the run out but found out the 4s/6s Tendulkar hit against McGrath - he even sledged him that game before hitting a six. McGrath bowled a ball and Tendulkar defended it back to McGrath. In typical bowler reaction, McGrath acted to throw the ball and Tendulkar outstretched his arm and said - I will hit it for a 6. He hit one in the next over - I think! XVcpV_38JLc
Dravid pulled McGrath for a six in this game. Everyone even in the Indian dressing room was shocked.

Why?..are only Sachin fans allowed to protest when something's said against him? Multan thing has been going on for a decade even after the Test win
Protesting for what ? for saying he was upset at a certain change in decision which didn help him reach his milestone ? ostensibly, he's got over it after that match and it didn affect his friendship with Dravid so why we fans fight over it now ?

Very true. In fact, for most part of his career, away from home especially, he lent a solidity to the top order that often shielded the middle order from fresh bowlers and trying conditions.
