I have used smart TVs and currently have 2 of them at home and I hate using them. I like apple tv to: * watch movies online legally by paying * watch stuff online illegally via airplay * love the fact they have few apps but the ones they release are pretty good One thing I dislike about apple tv is that its hard to watch videos saved on the network drive.

I thought at least the ipad air 2 is going to be available in stores as well as online for $100 off. I have an Amex card that will give me a further $25 off besides rewards points. So, that would make it a total of $125 off. Target has a $140 gift card for the base ipad air 2, but I think that will only be available in stores. So far, that is the best deal I have found on the ipad air 2. I don't know if it worth standing in line to get in and then wait another long line for checkout. Amazon and Apple seem to be keeping things in wrap and probably won't declare their deals earlier.

It's only good if you buy into the whole Apple eco-system. Even then, it has very limited selection of apps. For versatility and sheer number of choices, Roku 3 beats the hell out of any other streaming box.

Apple TV isn't even top two streaming devices. Roku and andriod fire tv are top. Roku is the best considering the no of channels they have huge collection. Are you using roku older gens. They are a bit slow. Roku 3 is faster they also have miracast which is in beta available for 3 and streaming stick. Roku 3 is significantly faster than older gen and also rumor is they will releasing new roku next year Q1.but if you still want an Apple TV you should get it a staples for 74$ This week only.on top of that they have a 20% coupon in store only this week.

Plex app has an AppStore for private channels. You can watch abc, cw tv and many others.do you add private channels other than on plex app ?

Especially watching youtube via Plex is more convenient than watching youtube directly.
