lara 400 led to a draw and infact wasted winning opportunity. lara himself has played much better innings and this was on an absolute flat track. so personally for me Rohit record is most unbelievable. never has the highest score been broken by such a large margin

Lara 400 was a useless and selfish innings played on one of the flattest pitches. No wonder this guy made 375 also on the same ground. This 264 in that context is far better, he reached 50 in 71 deliveries and ended up with 264 in 171 deliveries. It is mind boggling that this guy scored last 210 runs in just 100 deliveries without hint of slogging. I don't care what bowling attack it was to score that many runs that quickly is just an amazing feat.

Thank you....that pretty much sums up the point I was trying to make.....I don't see any difference between the Padosis who are trying to play down this acheivement and some of our own fans who are mocking this... People are not even reading the OP and just because they see Lara and Rohit in the same post,they are just assuming that Lara's innings must have been better.

So SL's only significant acheivement is winning the T20 WC and reaching the WC 2011 final since 1996 :cantstop: ...Tests the less said the better....boy you must be feeling like a minnow then. DOn't say the Eng series because even we managed to win 1 and draw 1...the very reason SL had a 2 match series is because they are considered a boring minnow test team in the league of Bangladesh(in the test arena)

Lara's 400 was NOT selfish.He scored at a SR of 69 which is great for Test unless you are Sehwag and after he enforced the follow on,WI still had 140 odd overs to get England.thats more than sufficient.That they couldnt do it shouldnt count against him

true.Harmison was a beast in that series.WI were bowled out under 50 in a previous match IIRC
