I used to play when I was in high school. Does anyone play at the club level? Has anyone participated in the tournaments to get the USATT ratings? I want to start playing again. I think it will be fun at this age. It will serve both the purposes of fun and fitness. We have a club here and all the members are very good. I am more like mid-level beginner. Club membership is $50 a month. I saw very few indians in the club list. For me to get the ratings, I will have to practice a lot before i can play tournament and get my rating. I know at best I can reach unto 500 ratings. 1000 within a year would be a fun as that will make it exciting to be part of the club.

I was pretty good.....Used to play at the YMCA regularly back when I was in India and maybe at best a decent inter-school level player. I have been looking for places to play badmintion in the U.S....not found too many but TT,I am sure you will find a lot of them even though unfortunately in U.S TT or ping-Pong is not treated as a serious sport

My forehand and backhand are equally strong. But i don't no have a match practice. In the college days, my college was runner up two years in a row at the district level. But that is about it. I never played since then. The club that I am referring to has free coaching every monday for the new members. Which is a good thing. Plus you get to play with hundreds of players in the city. Yea I can find some Rec centers or YMCA to play but playing only against 1 type players will make the game 1 dimensional. I will update this thread as I progress.

I am at 1200-1400 level regularly play in ping pong clubs here in Nj area. My backhand is better than forehand . I have tenergy 05 on a butterfly paddle. Pretty good for my skills. I cant play with a tenergy 64. Fast rubber needs better skill.

I am in the Stamford,CT area. I would really appreciate if you can recommend any good badminton clubs :two_thumbs_up: I have seen a lot of Chinese people temporarily convert racquet ball courts to Badminton courts by bringing in their own nets etc. but I am looking for more genuine badminton club. Thanks in advance :icflove:

Thanks Coffee.. Wow 1200-1400 is pretty decent man. I know I am not ready for custom paddles yet. I will play with what I have right now and then probably get one later.
