People will have different opinions on Dhawan but lets look at this :- 1. Only left handed opener option for India 2. Decent fielder 3. If he comes off, he can really explode 4. His form has been good We will not be playing against any PERFECT team...Who are openers of other teams Aus - Finch??? If Dhawan is a hack, what will you call Finch who plays in his home conditions? SL - Jayasuriya 2.0 is a certified hack and they are struggling to find an opener...they might get Mahela as they are so short of options Pak - Hafeez...enough said Eng- Cook ....( as an ODI player ) ...any arguments? Lets be realistic...Dhawan is no ATG but India is lucky to have a decent ODI left handed opener....anyone can fail in an ODI match and anyone can play a match-winning innings...the question is of odds...when India has a good option, it will be foolish to let the option go waste

I wish Yuvraj Singh was in form :( I would play this team in CB Series/WC: Dhawan Rohit Rahane Kohli Raina Dhoni Jaddu (reserve - Akhsar) Bhuvi Shami Umesh Ishant Imagine an in form Yuvraj singh in that middle order replacing Rahane. That would have been epic.

i was always hoping for Yuvi to return but he seems to be struggling at the moment in duleep trophy...but I agree that if we returns back to form tht would be awesome...also kohli would be back to 3 in cb series and worldcup...

We have Dhawan, Rohit and Rahane for opening slot and wont be surprising if any 2 of these struggle in Aus. I think Uthappa would be a contender (not the first choice at the moment of course).

Excellent XI... Pretty much sums up the options... Need to try all combinations in the CB series to see which works best.... I see a toss up between Rahane and Rayudu. The top 4 is either Rahane, Dhawan, Rohit Kohli (OR) Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli, Rayudu

To be successful down under.....I believe two aspects are extremely important 1) Technique 2) Attitude - Temperament He might not score too many points on the technique front although better when compared with other hacks but he has excellent temperament. Infact, I believe he will be more successful than our Tailunt Rohit Sharma...

Ha ha.nailed it.He is miserable overseas.His only good innigs in this sl series was in 3rd odi.Century in 1st odi was not convincing.

Not mandatory to play with left handed opener.Finch had good series in India last year.He had good odi series in England after ashes.Dhwan only play well when his partner is accelerating at other end in odi.His 97 in England and century in cuttack are proof of this.
