Also Bharat ratna is defined like this online "in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order". I dont see that in vajpayee compared to people in his field. they also get paid a lot of money... for me the lasting legacy of abv was the nhai golden quadilateral highway project. his government also made a series of key reforms which aided our economy mid 00s onwards on the issue of the soldiers u have to keep in mind sanctions due to the 1998 1999 nuclear tests etc had an impact. also due to the soviet union collapsing which was indias only major defence partner the lag in india was felt a decade later.

And if they do their job well, like AtalJi did, they not only bring pride to the country but also help millions of people in many different ways.

Texy Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 My grand father was a huge supporter of Vajpayee and dreamed every day of BJP winning national elections and then they did and Vajpayee became PM. He was so happy and overjoyed, died 1 day later. Mubarak ho Vajpayee ji :isalute:
