Cricketics Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 We can bat Australia out of the game and put them in trouble. We can literally take over the 2nd test if we bat really well in the first session. We are about 300 for 4 and if this pair can bat out the first session or if we just lost a wicket in the first session on day 2, and say we are around 400 - 5 at the closure of first session, we can be on our way to 500+ which will put Australia in real trouble. We have to realize the opportunity here. We are in great position and can't let it slip from here. Meanwhile, if Australia takes couple of wickets, they will end up putting us under 450 which will be a job well done for Aussie bowlers. Rohit, Rahane and Dhoni are really key to this with hopefully Ashwin chipping in runs also. But the Rohit- Rahane really need to carry on and bat carefully in the first session. What you guys reckon?

If we make them stay for 2 sessions then we should have this test. Their batting isnt great either, we need to make sure we keep up the pressure

We are talking about nohit,has he ever done anything, on top of that we have a tail which is totally useless. They had that chance last test too Vijay and Virat set up the chase perfectly but nohit along with tail were non existent.It is almost impossible to lose 8 wickets in a session but we did thanks in large part to Mr.Nohit. You cannot be asking four players to carry the burden of eleven players.

Already batting in 20s, so he doesn't have to start from 0 and also Aus bowlers aren't looking any threatening. He has batted well to Lyon so if he can get a boundary or two to Lyon, and bat and leave well to seamers, then he can definitely get a good score here. Rahane, hopefully will score another 50-70+ runs tomorrow and that can be great for us

They are missing Michael Clarke now, who has troubled INdian bowlers a lot. We should bowl with high confidence. Get Warner and few others early, I think we can do well here.

There will be Mitchel Johnson, who we have handled well, and than their is an inexperienced bowling attack which is already struggling and breaking down. Hazledwood, bowled well but struggled and the less I say about Starc the better. Bat out first session with caution.

We are not talking about the bowling caliber, its more about our ability to gift wickets away. Rohit doesnt exude any confidence at all, he always finds a way to get out. So i wouldnt count on him to score more than 40, that leaves Rahane Dhoni and Ashwin. Expecting 200 from those 3 is too much, so ya unless Rohit decides to show up scoring anywhere close to 500 is out of the equation.

Dhobi is yet to be seen, he did well in England but after touring the place so many times any player worth his salt will do that much. The thing is in both tests their bowling did not look threatening at all, it was just lack of application and common sense from 6 players. Nohit getting out to nothing shots both times to Lyon was shameful. Hope I am totally wrong and they do score 200 plus runs .

Need to try and score quickly...450 is what we should aim - if we get more, then fine but should not get into mode of batting slowly....
