This ODI campaign is going so much like world cup 2007. Let's just stick to the current ODI lot as we were doing fine with them instead of converting recent in form test bats into ODI specialist just barely two months before the world cup.

Not his format..cannot afford to leave 35-40% balls in ODi's just like tests..we guys have got into this mess in tests after the highs of no.1 ranking in 2009 by selecting test players based on ODI and IPL form and viceversa is being contemplated now for Murali Vijay now ... :yikes:

NO !!! Strike rotating ability is virtually zero. So as the pressure builds he plays a clownish slog across the line and holes out . This is the perfect format for his natural game.

i dont think he has the temperament for ODIs. Same with Rahane. They dont seem to have the ability to rotate strike fluently and score the occasional boundary. They let the pressure get to them and play some loose shot and get out. Their temperament is more suited to tests and they are very valuable as specialist test batsmen as its the toughest format and its tough to find good test quality batsmen.

His highest in 20-25 innings he has played in ODIs and T20Is is 47. And that is against Afghanistan.

His technique is not going to be 'spoiled' by ODI cricket, ffs. The question should be whether he can be a good ODI player. Even when he was widely derided as an IPL hack he barely scored any runs in ODI cricket. He doesn't score quick singles and struggles to rotate strike so I doubt he will be good in ODI even now.

You think ODIs are close to 'evil'?
