Here's a guy who is trying and we Indian fans find a way to ridicule that too. I mean there's a limit to pessimism and hate. Let Binny demonstrate his increase in pace' date=' take a look at this bowling and then make a comment. It might well be that Binny is crap but w/o looking at him in domestic cricket there's no point entering into a ridicule baraat.[/quote'] i don't think that's the issue with anyone at all the problem is his proclamation that he can now bowl at 128km/h and thinking that that's has made him some sort of express bowler

I suppose he is at least trying unlike Idiot Sharma who simply says don't expect much from me. But it is too much to expect a military medium 30 year old to suddenly change into anything different. You are what you are.

Binny just said that after he came to international cricket he realized the importance of pace, has worked on his fitness and has added 1 yard of pace. I don't see where he has implied or said that he's an express bowler. I would like to see that people appreciate the hard work he has put in. This doesn't mean he should be in the Indian team but appreciation for hard work is not too much to as for. All I can see here is ridicule based on an assumption.

Yup. He has been named as a 'Fast Bowler' in the list of probables.. Good chance that he will make it among the 5/6 fast bowlers that India pick in the squad... The combination in the playing XI after No. 6 (Dhoni) is likely to be : Two out of SIR, Axar, Ash and Binny + Three out of four pace options (Bhuvi, Shami, Yadav, Ishant)

Get the feeling they might pick a squad of 16 for the World Cup, one more than they did last time... Player type - XI (Squad) batsmen - 5/7 keeper - 1/1 spinner - 2/3 pacers - 3/5

Yeah he can very well be tried if ball is expected to swing. Two spinners will be useless in such conditions

2 spinners will be useless on most pitches there in Aus and NZ. Binny should play as 4th seamer, 5th bowler. Raina can bowl a few overs of spin too.

The selection of spinners is going to be tricky. Very likely that only one will play in most matches, sometimes two. But they have to select from Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar... Having all three in the squad means you have one lesser quick in the squad. With Binny likely to be the fifth bowler, we can have only 4 specialist seamers in the squad... And we have to choose from Ishant, Yadav, Shami, Bhuvi, Aaron, Mohit, Dhawal... Most likely the first four then....

5 quicks BK, Shami two certainties then two of who does well in CB series, Ishant, Yadav and Aaron. Spinner one of Jadeja or Akshar based on CB series. I want 4 specialist pacers but it wont happen.

^^ There will always be 1-2 injured (fake or real) to get in the final XV as desired by the board/selectors. Sreesanth was a added as a replacement for Praveen Kumar after the initial squad was announced.

So .... Ranji cricketers don't understand the importance of decent pace .... They only do so after they play internationals ! That is a cause for worry for me. Unless they are naturally very quick or are selector's sons ...They won't get a chance to play for India because they don't have pace and till they play for India , they won't realize the importance of pace.

Because they are already getting success using swing seam in domestic cricket. They don't really strive to have that x factor.
