Pretty poor comparison .A fiction books aim to entertain the readers and Scientist paper is about that research and so on If a scientist writes a novel /book for sale and coundnt make the readers understand then yes he is a poor writer Whereas sports whether tests or Odis the purpose is same to entertainment for fans

So the first IPL hundred made by Vijay in 40 odd deliveries against IPL trundlers is equal (or greater) to the "boring" 144 he made recently in 220 odd balls against a classy opposition, because it had more entertainment value. Is that what you are trying to say? Greatness is measured only in terms of intrinsic value. Popularity alone is never a measure of greatness.

Let me.......first and foremost.......commend all of us on keeping the debate civilized......:congrats:....... Secondly........I'm still waiting for my 20 examples of Dhoni's suppa-finishing suppa-powwah........non-IPL examples of course.........so far we have 6........

Finishing is not all a bout scoring 8-9 rpo. There is no one who has done that regularly. It includes finishing in both first and 2nd innings. Ist innings is also need to be finished well to set a big target.

Thank you for saying this.........you see......I'm not trying to discredit Dhoni as an ODI batsman........I rate him very highly in ODIs........ My problem is with the MSD Fellatio Brigade over-rating his abilities to the high heavens........and in turn.......over shadowing even our resident padosis in the Lahori Logic dept.........It's like Dhoni won the WC.......but Team India got whitewashed in England and Australia.......Dhoni won the 2007 WC........but Team India failed to win a single knockout match in 2009 and 2010........all praise.......no accountability....... BTW, I personally feel that finishing in the 1st and 2nd innings are 2 completely different arts.......MSD fans claim that he is the greatest match finisher in ODIs.........matches are finished in the second innings.......hence why I'm asking for examples of 20 chases.......

As a Captain So he won us the T20 2007 WC but then knocked out of 3 WC's and that too in "pre knock outs" - Tests-Do we have to go there ODI's-Good ODI career as a captain-even though I can list the times he got failed,still has had a very decent career as a player and a captain. As a Keeper Terrible keeper to anyone who bowls more than 135+....Decent against SPin...Have to say though one of the best stumpers I have seen...Not test worthy keeping but I have acknowledged he is a good utility cricketer so will do in ODI's. As a batsman Poor in tests,Piss poor in T20's,no overseas 100's etc. Dhoni being the greatest Indian cricketer since Sachin is as much of a joke if a Paki says Afridi is the greatest Paki cricketer since Imran Khan...might be true in terms of popularity but lol.

Dhoni has played 219 ODI innings.......20 is just under 10% of the total innings he has played......if you are struggling to find 20 examples of his suppa powah finishing......then how can he be considered the greatest ODI finisher?
