Kohli now has the same number of 100s outside the SC as Sangakkara and as many 50+ avg series outside the SC

Sanga is below Sachin' date=' Dravid and Gavaskar. He is probably better than all other Indian batsmen. Sanga vs Sehwag is disputable as they are different batsmen. Sanga vs Laxman is a fair comparison, maybe Sanga is a bit better overall. Some times I don't understand the ridicule of Sanga here.[/quote'] Yep ..that's fair and I think people here started hating him after he proved himself to be a hypocrite with his contrasting speeches and his action on field ..

Don't understand the hate for Sanga. If we say that we "attack/get annoyed at" Sanga bcos of some stupid fans, then fans getting annoyed at SRT due to Sachinistas are justified. Some fans were/are/will be dumb and will overrate some players. But no need to hate or attack a player because of that. Of course, no one is asking anyone to rate Sanga highly (everyone's entitled to their opinion). For me, Sanga is an lower tier ATG.
Sleeper Class ATG :hmmm:

Let Sanga get out for a duck in every game - Appropriate display of hate, because the wish is legitimate for Whinga. There is nothing great about Sanga the batsman - inappropriate display of hate, because the statement is wrong on many counts. :haha:

You have to exclude Sanga's time as a wkt-bat as that is an unfair comparison. When playing as a pure batsman, he is as good as any.
This is the favourite excuse trotted out by the Sanga fans. Firstly in a number of matches when he kept he batted in the top order(number 3 mostly) and pray tell me why we should be excluding those stats...or are you telling me that a number 3s runs don't count? Secondly, that little bit of cherry picking conveniently removes the bad parts and pretty much brings his sample size outside the SC to joke levels(and as it is he's hardly played or done enough there). The final nail in the coffin is that there is an example of a keeper who averages 55.54 with 6 tons as a designated keeper(as opposed to 50.22 when he is not!). Guess who? Ab de villiers-a contemporary of Sanga. I'll not even mention the Andy Flowers etc. On a related note, Umesh yadav averages 17.45 with the ball whenever he isn't fielding at thirdman :--D

Lol! This guy's butthurt for Kohli is quiet something.
Just stating the facts ... pitches are getting flatter around the world ... can't compare what the old guys did to the current crop.

Virats been cashing on easy conditions ... India have gotten some being beauties the past year.
This only messes up Sanga's case further because he did bugger all till about 2010 :haha: (For the record India got the greenest pitch ever at Lords this year where Pakistan combined would have struggled to make 50 but don't let facts get in your way) Anything the floats the boat for our resident padosi trolls though. Stick around after Pakistan dazzle us with their batting displays in the WC. 5-2 in the ICC Trophy count and no LOI series win this year, first test series win in 3 years(that too in the UAE) has "gotten" some of our dear padosis back from the caves in which they were hiding.

So what did Sanga do? He too has been feasting on flat tracks lately. Get out and he's an HTB, gets runs abroad, he scored them on flat tracks and goes on to laud Afridi. Go figure

So ....that dilutes the bowling achievements of past Pakistani great bowlers like Imran and Wasim ...doesn't it. They had real bowler friendly pitches to bowl on. :winky:

At the moment it may be, but I think Kohli is ATG prospect. He, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Mathews are going to rock in next 10 years time. kohli may score more, Mathews may average more, due to the roles they are playing.

I expect these 2 to do better, or at least equal to, the names you mentioned.

^ Oz has been good for him, and SA to a lesser extent. If he improves his game (a lot) in Eng and NZ, he can become a great batsman for India; stil has some way to go.
