But aren't more of our own men being killed this past year? And somehow that is a good thing because? I would stop for a second and ask myself. WHY is Pakistan doing this? Will they take over our country by shooting at the border? Obviously they do it to provoke. But being provoked and shooting back and this continuing, which is exactly what they want, it is somehow a good thing? Pakistan would want nothing more than to prove we are equal to them in everything and keep the conflict ongoing
Earlier they came, they killed and they went away - our soldiers were never allowed the freedom to respond as they would like. Now they're giving back 10 times what they receive from Pak - thats caused very heavy casualties on the other side and I'm sure because of this the number of ceasefire violations will come down - it will obviously take some time but it will happen if Pakistan keeps suffering much higher casualties than they used to during UPA's rule.

But that is yet to be seen.

Anyone who has even a rudimentary knowledge of the 4 wars between India-Pakistan would know that the PA and their subordinates cannot be trusted. FFS, they refused to take back the bodies of their own soldiers (disguised as insurgents) after Kargil. As Arun Jaitley said, the only way to stop this adventurism is to simply make it unaffordable for them. Shelve your Aman ki Asha for the next 10 years. The rot is too deep.

I have grown up in an army cantonment area. Pretty much all armymen I interact with prefer BJP/NDA over Cong/UPA.
Hard to believe, maybe the lower ranks do like NDA. The corrupt top brass would want a corrupt government like UPA to have a free hand in arms deals like Bofors.

A lot of them like BJP because of disappointment with the previous establishment....very much like the rest of the country. The loyalty is conditional to performance...Of course there will be some strong supporters, some strong opponents and some will always be opportunists. Almost everyone I know in my family...present or ex fauji support BJP right now(Gen Khanduri being the mostfav)...but it is conditional support ......people were not happy with the local BJP leaders in Uttarakhand.

A little more than 10 years. I think the turning point would be Thorium based reactors and thorium extraction facilities + Uranium deals with Aus/US etc. And if this is also acheived by China with Throium from Brazil then the West,Russia(Gas), India China Brazil ( Thorium) would be totally free of dependency on Oil. That would be beginning of the end of Extremist Islam.

I've heard that Tamil Nadu has one of the largest Thorium (from sand) reserves in the world. Problem is the US for me. Bit hypocritical of me saying this, but I do not trust the US govt. to do anything in the best interests of the world. They will do everything to place their interests before everyone else, including their own people. There are also too many major stakeholders in the oil and gas industry in good ol' US of A who fund (lobby) the political campaigns of politicians, so their interests will almost always be served. The only reason Pakistan receives any sort of foreign aid is because of its strategic location. The likes of the US, China and now Russia more or less are using Pakistan like tissue paper to fulfill their goals in the region. The Pakistani establishment is either too blind or simply doesn't care about its civilians to see this. But I agree with your overall point, there needs to be a tectonic shift in the global energy and power generation industry, a shift that will decrease the dependency on fossil fuels, to initiate the end of Wahaabi/Salafi Islam.

Actually India has close to 50% of all Thorium in the world 25+ of confirmed deposits.. Brazil,Aus,US,Russia also have, Turkey has. Middle east does not have,China does not have... Although China does not have deposits, they probably are sure to get it from other sources hence are pursuing the tech. Thorium is actually abundant in the world, not available in Middle east though. But Oil industry will definitely not die away, even if nuke power becomes affordable. The recent oil price changes and war between OECD and North americans does show some resolve, it could all come crashing if there is some major break through and constructions are completed across the world on reactors as planned...we will see it in our lifetimes..

I hope to see that day (still in my early twenties so I might). I'm sure that such a shift will result in the Rupee seriously appreciating, as we will no longer have to import oil from abroad to meet out power needs. We will possibly become a major exporter of energy :two_thumbs_up:. This is why I was very encouraged with the recent power deals signed with Aus and Russia. While the left libtards were busying crying about 'haraamzaada' politics and ghar-vapsi in the Parliament, Modi and Putin signed off a nuclear deal to build units 3 and 4 of the Kundakulam plant. We all know this would've not been possible without the baiting as people like Sitaram Yechury and other commies would've made a big hue and cry about it in Parliament.

Well i think it will happen in 2 decades or less, but the trickle effect of effective replacement of IC engine cars with battery operated ones will take some more time, eventually there would be nuke core land and air vehicles that would be auto driven and we will never know fuel recharge etc but then that probably will take several decades. any reduction in Oil imports will mean two things, less of rupee will go out to purchase dollars, so rupee will strengthen but this will not necessarily mean good for India, as India goods will become costlier :winky: in the export market. So basically we would needs lots of product based industries, not simple service offerings because they would not be competitive. left has an important role, they often appear like retards esp in India because of vote bank politics and pseudo seculars, but they are critical in the state/religion schism they played the same role in Europe in the last century, and will play the same role in India as well.. hopefully.

+1. I agree. I don't think intention is to kill as many from the other side. But make them spend so much that they will burn out and wont have enough to spend any more. There is a collateral damage in either approach we take, no matter what. This adventure on the border is very expensive. They must be cutting down their expenditure on internal security or other important security aspects. I hope pak is smart enough to understand it.

Yes, we might lose a fair amount of business with regards to BPOs, but then we could shift the focus of the tertiary sector to hospitality and tourism. If (big IF) we can resolve the Kashmir issue and the separatist movements in the North-East, the tourism industry will grow even more. And where tourism is ripe, product based-businesses start getting established in large numbers. So maybe that could be one avenue, right? If we have the right kind of leadership, the future of India looks very bright.

As long as they are relegated to petty rabble-rousing in Parliament, I have no problem with the existence of the left. If they ever come back to power, I'd be worried. The concept of Nationalism is none-existent among the top Left politicians.

The best way to tackle this terrorism problem would be to organize covert operations that target these terrorist camps. Full blown war benefits no one, except weapon manufacturers. Problem is, the Pakistan govt. will never co-operate with India to carry out such operations. Anti-India jingoism is one of the few binding factors among Pakistanis. We also have our own set of Jai Chands in the media and political sphere who will antagonize our armed forces in public, to appease their handlers.

#1 - Please politicize the fight against terrorism. Every Indian wants to stop Pakistani terrorists, we only differ in our approach. That does not make us less or more patriotic. #2 - I'd normally wont EVER EVER question the army, but with all due respects, that BSF commander should not have spoken out so callously about killing other humans. Granted, in this case, those 'humans' maybe heartless murderers and terrorists, but we should not be using a language similar to the other side.

You are not the one watching your accomplices dying everyday because of the mindless firing from the other side and then waiting forever to hear what action we can take. When you're on the border, you cannot be thinking like a Human Rights activist.

There are no liberal posers there no pseudo's just guns and valor. Honor-shame cultures have a propensity to bring out the guns and oppression ,guns are basically needed there in the borders to survive the hoardes that are trying to get in and create all sorts of their appalling havoc.
