Captain Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Kohli? The guy stayed only for 8 deliveries. Dhawan,Rahane and Dhoni to a slight extent are to be blamed.That being said,if we can't defend 302 against Bangladesh at MCG under lights,we don't deserve to win.

His primary focus is protecting his wicket. He used to make up for it . Nowadays especially while batting first he just looks totally helpless.

I will even exempt Dhawan from this as he was opening and you don't want to lose early wickets but build a platform. Rahane was the culprit, mindless batting. Kohli didn't do anything wrong in this respect as wasn't there long enough.

So they persisted with him. But i always had this fear lurking about him getting stuck.

But I wouldn't put my hopes on him in tough chasing situations.

I dont think posters are giving enough credit to the BD bowlers in the first 25 overs. I thought they bowled well. In general IMO people need to calm down. If its not Jadeja its Rahane or its MSD. Before that it was Raina. You are not going to get a 100% unit. Some parts will perform and other parts will not. Rohit himself had a so so world cup before this innings.

Even at the risk of being termed an idiot I would venture to say slight adjustments Dhoni made to technique and backlift during Eng test series,where he was moderately successfull as well has disrupted his ODI game.I just dont like the set up,stance and his backlift these days and its painful to watch him not even clear 30 yard circle , hitting ability is completely washed up :((.
