Exactly. We're picking up here all time "XI". Not who all are the greatest ODI players. So it's the combination of "XI" players who are great as a team. So quick 40-50 in a high pressure game against pak makes a world of a difference. And that's why we've other players in that XI which has their own role to play like a long inning or to stabilize the batting line up or to hold a end or to do slogging in in the death overs.

Just goes to show the bias of some fans. How on earth would Dhoni get in ahead of Gilchrist? That's what I was saying to bones that we can replace Sehwag with gilly and I'm being biased there. In that case gonna replace Dhoni with Klusner. But as I said again, have to be biased against my fav players. Like SRK actually does in KKR with likes of Yusuf Pathan.

Australia won 3 World Cups on the trot in different conditions. They absolutely dominated in those tournaments. If you're not going to pick a team with the core components from that dominant era then frankly you opinion can't be taken seriously. Also Gilly may have a low average overall in WCs, but he was the man for the big occasion. He never failed in a final. If I wanted to pick a WC XI, which I wouldn't cause I don't have time to waste like others here, quite simply I would pick the best of the Aussie team from 99 to 07. No need to waste time on other players.

82 in the World Cup Final 2003. But I chose Gilchrist as well. Obvious selection really. Greatest batsman ever in World Cup finals.

Even with no bias, people will have different preferences. For example, Kapil vs Imran, Sachin vs Ponting, Warne vs Murali, Hayden vs Sehwag are all endless debates in ODIs.

Makes no sense. So players like Sachin and Viv miss out because they were not Aussies. Also it is a bad idea to judge a player entirely based on his performances in the finals.
