This is really horrible' date=' been following Ranji Team this year and fast bowling stock is Dry and empty,[b'] just very much surprise to see so far not single bowler who could bowl 140+ forget about doing it consistently not even a few balls at that speed consider so much training, facility and coaching you get these days. There got be other reason for this which we may not know may be too much corruption at the lower level I am saying this because I know for sure there has to be tons of bowlers who could hit that mark consistently this is because recently I was playing at the indoor facility here in Toronto which has speedo meter posted at the nets and while I was bowling my speed was coming in the range 115-119K and I am 38 now definitely I was much quicker when I was 25-26 and there were whole lot of bowlers playing for my college and University who were much quicker then me 12-15 years ago and this is just in the south gujarat area can't Imagine whole of India none is fast enough to bowl at 140K, BCCI really need to do some thing about this situation otherwise don't send team to away tours else get humiliated every time we go. what is happening to cricket academy at the zonal levels What your guy's observation is the cupboard really empty or gems are hidden under the dirt just need to discover and polish them?
You say there is not single ranji bowler who can clock over 140k,may i ask at what pace do yadav and arron bowl.Have they joined the long list of trundlers.

Skinny legs and poor core strength are the reasons for lack of pace in your bowlers. Hit the gym and do squats and dead lifts. Shoaib did a video explaining how important it is having a powerful lower body to generate pace. Look at motu Kallis and the speeds he could hit.

I don't think the OP is talking about express bowlers. Ability to touch 140 k once in a while is not even fast. Most good international pacers have the ability to bowl a good % of deliveries between 135 to 142 k ....and do so accurately. This is just fast-medium bowling ...not really quick by any stretch of imagination. Our domestic cricket should have quite a few pacers in atleast that pace range.
Bumrah, VPS, Shardul, Pandey at times... these are only guys who I have seen bowling over 135K in domestic.

Didn't we take all phast bowlers to Oz? Part of the plan to unleash Indian pace on Australia
Having pace is not an end, it is just a start. We have 2 pacers bowling 140 plus, but probability of them coming good is very low, but if we have 15 such bowlers in domestic cricket, at least 1-2 will come good. Teams like Aus, SA, NZ have more 140k bowlers in FC cricket than any country. They have more choices to select.

One of the problem with our fast bowlers is by the time they finish their run up they are exhausted lol. They don't run optimally enough to peak at the delivery point. Sunil gavskar was also analyzing this. Shami's run up is too long that he is exhausted when he gets to the crease. Atleast have strong shoulders like this guy.. He jogs much slower than Vinay kumar bowls much quicker than him [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFaWbjegBHg]James Pattinson 5 wickets vs New Zealand 2nd Test 2012 HD - YouTube[/ame]

Poor analysis even by Gavaskar. Pattinson when runs in and tries to bowl quick, runs in quick too. Most bowlers do that. Name any Styen, Johnson, Morkel. Their runup quickens up whn they are bowling quick. Even Zak was like that. Shami's issue has noting to do with having a long runup. It is not even long. Shami does not run in quick at all. Shami runs on his heels that is his problem. He runs too upright and that is why his loading at the crease is poor. While one should run on toes and with a bent back, so, that you are not already in an upright position when you lands on the crease. When Shami is already upright when he runs in, he has no scope for a proper loading which makes his left arm fall early and body imbalance.

Pattinson uses his shoulder more than strong run up. Steyn, Johnson are supreme athletes. Morkel uses his shoulders. So does pattinson. You need to be physically strong and athletic to do all those things that you say. If Shami exactly copies Steyn's speed and action he would not bowl more than 2 overs with his fitness. You cannot possibly compare Shami and Steyn. Indian bowlers lack strength, stamina, optimization of energy.

I am just saying that every bowler is different and they bowl differently and also highlighted Shami's issues. Morkel does not use shoulder. He has a very brisk runup and quick arm action which generates pace for him. Pattinson does but he also runs in quicker when he tries to bowl very quick. Length of runup does not matter when it comes to Shami because his running technique is poor. He needs to be taught about running technique.

Did he also put out a video showing how he caught genital warts?

Corruption and nepotism is the reason. Take a example of tamilnadu, cricket is totally controled by mama, mama promotes his community players in tamilnadu team.

Just look at this thread. Look how many indian folks in this thread saying pAce is nothing and making fun of our only two genuine pace bowlers like UYadav n V Arun The problem is that most Indians just don't appreciate the concept of pace bowling. Look at Tait, he was wayward but boy o boy, the guy had an average and strike rate in ODIs that our bestest bowers like KDev, Srinath and ZKhan can only dream of.
