an event so fecked up it deserves its own thread. Looks like the BJP will back Manjhi who has about 12-15 mlas backing him. But Nitish kumar backing MLAS are expected to take him over the line. Will there be any drama? What sort of speech will Manjhi give? Will polls be called early?

I think Nitish will be CM. Manjhi and his supporters have already been suspended from JDU so some of them might join BJP in a few days/weeks. Lots of defections to/from all parties (especially JDU/RJD) may happen in days to come. As for possibility of early polls - if Nitish becomes CM (which I think he will), then polls will happen on time otherwise there is a chance of early polls.

According to an old article in The Hindu, this is what the anti defection law states:

A member would incur a disqualification under paragraph 2 (1) (a) when he “voluntarily gives up his membership of a party†and under 2 (1) (b) when he/she votes (or abstains from voting) contrary to the directive issued by the party.

I thought Manjhi was going to do a 1996 Vajpayee, but he caved in earlier. I think he will now just create his own party with the help of some of his supporters.

What drama by Nitish. First resigned on moral grounds' date=' what's changed in less than a year, lost his morals?[/quote'] He installed a simpleton thinking he would be able to pull his strings from the background. Simpleton decided that he no longer wishes to dance to his master's tunes. Morals have no place in politics, especially when it comes to Bihar.

ANI ‏@ANI_news Patna: Nitish Kumar reaches Raj Bhavan for his swearing in ceremony as Bihar CM. LOL....seems like he was waiting for the match to be over so people would notice that he became CM again :cantstop:

Can somebody tell me what changed in year ? He gives up his post to Maha Dalit and accepts responsibility for LS defeat. Now he steals the position from the Maha Dalit to come back. Can the secularites who have very intricate understanding of this mindset explain this course of action.

Morals have no place in politics' date=' especially when it comes to Bihar.[/quote'] I think he was fine until the Janta Parivaar was reborn and RJD had reservations (pun intended) with a maha dalit being a CM. Yadavs cant be ruled by dalits. Hence he had to replaced, Manjhi did want go down without fire.

He is a big mafia and criminal. If you would recall the Political Mafia episode of Satyamev Jayate, there was a story of killing of Ajit Sarkar, a communist leader. This man murdered him in daylight. He represents the dark side of Bihar politics. Very popular among Yadavs and minorities in Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran area of Bihar.
