Sachin went mad and its always tough for any bowler to restrict a player of his stature. It was slightly difficult for me to come out of it but slowly I have forgotten everything and I'm confident of regaining my place in the national side." "For a young boy finding his feet in international cricket, it was really hard. I wasn't playing but I remember Sachins assault. But it happens to the best of bowlers in the world and it was great to see the way Tim fought back," Harris told TOI. "Bradburn worked well with Southee, kept his morale high and he kept on improving over the years," Harris said. "We have bowled well as a group over a period of time now. And I'm sure there will be another time where we both will bowl just as well or someone else will bowl better. It's a fun game of cricket and I am enjoying the way we have operated in a group," Southee said, soaking in the moment of glory with his teammates.

Indeed, we can place all the credit of Southee's superb outswing bowling for which he's been renowned since the under 19 world cup to Sachin Tendulkar. We may as well just put his bowling figures in Sachin's stats. May as well put Mitchell Johnson's bowling down to Sachin too, since I'm sure he once farted in his general direction.

He is a rhythm bowler. I remember him taking 7 wickets in one innings in India also. Once he starts taking wickets, he becomes more confident. Teams should try see him through in first 5-6 over.

Where does the article "credit" Tendulkar for Southee's rise as a bowler? It merely mentions a low point early in his career, and how he has vastly improved from that position through hard work and good direction from his coach. Even Tendulkar frequently mentions how he had to face world class fast bowlers like Wasim and Waqar in his very first match. Doesn't mean he credits them for his performances.

The title of the article is "Hiding from Sachin made Southee Stronger"... The actual article is slightly less condescending and puts a bit of credit towards his hard work but still fails to mention that Southee was always likely to come good. He was the bowler of the under 19 world cup, and frequently destroyed any domestic team he came up against from the age of 18. Moreover, he'd taken a 5 wicket haul on test debut as a 19 year old. I just don't understand why Sachin has to be mentioned any time any cricketer does something.

Well' date=' not sure why Henry Olonga did not become a legendary bowler then.[/quote'] it would have but he was inspired to be political due to sachin nomination to parliament. as a result he threw his career away for a political protest

There is no reasoning with these Sachin worshippers. They see him everywhere....

Media made some headlines like they do with EVERY SiNGLE TIME.. Let's start calling Sachin fans all sort of names. Typical. And the same fans want respect for the players they like. Hypocrites
