Gambit Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 We were written off after a disastrous performance in NZ, with question marks on our batting. Slowly we started building momentum with good wins in the group stages (except the hammering by Aus) and nearly went all the way. This WC is turning out to be similar and the only teams I genuinely think can beat us in a knockout setting are Aus/NZ/Eng.

Both De Villiers and Dhoni said the pitch was slightly two paced.And it didnt have exaggerate move that we get in Perth/Gabba And more crucially it helps spinners.Even vs Aus Axar bowled really well.And we all know how Egland bat when there is slight help for spinners

I mean, FMD, what pitch isn't 2 paced? I've batted on carpet with variable pace and bounce FFS.

That pitch had no movement, but bounce.

MCG if anything is more similar to sydney
zen Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 2003 WC was great except for the two games vs. OZ .... this appears more like 83 where iirc Ind started out by beating the defending champions WI, probably lost to OZ, then Kapil turned it around vs. Zim to secure a place in the SF. Beat Eng in the SF and ofc the WI in the all imp game The win against Pak was customary, however the win vs. SA will give the team the much needed confidence boost
