zen Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I am not for majority's dominance over minorities in India. I do want equality for everyone. If minorities expect to be treated fairly, they need to treat the majority fairly too, and ofc vice versa Also Hinduism/Sikhism/Buddhism/etc are born in India, and therefore represent the original culture of India. It is the duty of every citizen (and even the entire subcon), irrespective of his/her religious beliefs, to protect this unique culture When the Mughals (from Mongols, decedents of the Great Genghis Khan) came to Ind, they brought their own unique culture. Similarly the Christian British Empire. It is understandable that because of various dynamics, people would have been attracted towards the new religions that came to India Now did we see the Mongols (Mughals) acting as Arabs (where Islam originated) because they embraced Islam? Did we see the British think that they are from Rome because of the Vatican? The Mongols practiced Islam but balanced that with the Mongolian culture as well So Gita, Mahabharata and Ramayana are not just religious books, but also cultural books for the subcon. Majority of people in Greece are Christians, but does that imply that respecting Zeus, Apollo, and other Greek Gods and ancient heroes is blasphemy? Incidences such as Taliban destroying the Bamiyan Buddha are unfortunate Moreover, religion is something that you keep at your home. Culture is something that you bring with you everywhere. Saree, Choli/Kurta, Punjabi dress, Lungi, Dhoti, Kurta/Pajama, etc. are Ind's cultural dresses and one should be able to wear them irrespective of his/her religion Tomorrow, a new religion could pop up in some part of the world which says that wearing clothes is forbidden. Now you may want to follow this religion but will you walk naked on the streets of India where traditional culture demands that you wear clothes? Will the school based on such religious beliefs punish students for wearing clothes to school? My point is that everything that originated in India/subcon and has been a part of our culture for 1000s of years, should be respected by everyone, irrespective of his/her religious beliefs. And this is the area where Ind's policy makers have gone wrong. The minority and majority too have misconstrued the freedom as the right to put religion above culture
G_B_ Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 the ass hole YSR and his family have made a mafia of these proselytizing christians' date='hope Naidu keeps them in check.[/quote'] Its in the works. YSR Congress is steadily having its members defect to various parties. Mostly to the TDP. They are already finished in Telangana. All these stories are coming out now cause people know he is losing power in a big way. The elevation of Ram Maddav to the RSS upper ranks also indicates that the RSS is in overdrive in both states.
amiret Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Pathetic school . But not surprised considering the standard of education and schooling in India. Every 2 bit property developer is allowed to put up a school .
moniker Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Their school their rules. Those who have a problem have the option of not admitting their children in those schools. But punishing a child for this is human rights abuse. They could've called the parents and explained politely. That principal needs to be taken to task.

vvvslaxman Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 This school should be sued and charged with heavy penalty. Morons. if these guys had done like this in Dubai he would be serving 20 year sentence.

hhunaeh Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The school must think it is in france. They might have rules, but they should compromise and overlook such small transgressions.
amiret Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The school must think it is in france. They might have rules' date= but they should compromise and overlook such small transgressions. If that is so, does the school prevent students of other religions from wearing or displaying religious symbols ? most likely no. Pretty sure this school has no problems with some religious symbols.
Vilander Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 LIBERAL SCUM Definition/attributes : Liberal scum have aerodynamic skulls to deflect opposing thought, they are also pro surrender. If one pays his taxes thats sufficient there is no need for any patriotism or nationalism according to them. The donkey is absolute mascot for them as it is stubborn, intractable and incapable of understanding reasoned argument, and often seems to forget how often it is wrong day in and day out, repeats the same mundane often.

diga Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Isnt there an RTE(right to education) act which allows a lot of other people to put their kids into this school? Should everybody follow the rules mandated by the management?
rkt.india Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I wonder if when colleges ban certain clothes for women or apply curfew on them' date=' do you protest with the same zeal. That is after all a much bigger fundamental violation of rights of a human being. Hey, everyone is expected to comment on everything, right?[/quote'] Both cases are different.
urbestfriend Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Isnt there an RTE(right to education) act which allows a lot of other people to put their kids into this school? Should everybody follow the rules mandated by the management? RTE is not applicable to minority institutions.
bulbul Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 RTE is not applicable to minority institutions. Where minorities only get education or schools run by minorities?

Tapioca Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The child, a student of St Ann School in Tarnaka area of Secunderabad was so badly affected by the incident that she refused to go to school for a few days, her parents have complained to the state human rights commission. In my time, there were 2-3 occasions when my headmaster made me stand outside his room. It was very embarrassing because teachers would be going in and out to meet the HM and they would inquire what made me stand there. But it never occurred to me to use this as an excuse to skip classes for a few days (used to use old fashioned methods like headache and stomach pain). The kids these days are smarter.
