wow. I slept right through. Looks like he really put scared the sh** out of OZ middle order. But Pakistan is not exactly a great fielding side. So you always have to include couple of drops. Only one department show up regularly for them.

He rattled Maxwell with his pace . Right from the start Maxwell was trying to hit out and when he gave the opportunity Paki fielders dropped him .:facepalm: Yes other bowlers have bowled like this before but we need to consider the conditions. This was a 350+ pitch.

clarke's statement makes sense because he has a big weakness against the bouncers(probably because of the bad back),barbie and morkel toyed with him earlier so it was not surprising to see him struggling against a left arm express bowler

Me too bro. Aaron should have been in the squad but it's all hindsight. I can see why Aaron wasn't included so won't fault selectors. Yadav is quick but not going all out like Wahab. I think Shami is best to replicate this kind of Wahab spell. Shamiji gets awkward steep bounce, good pace and uses the angles of the crease well. Wahab is a left armer and that angle helped today. Someone call Unadkat, I remember him bouncing Kallis in a test in SA at 70 mph :cantstop:

aaron has bowled such hostile spells and they were great to watch.talking about bouncers,i think yadav and shami can bowl a hostile spell of bouncers to clarke and watto with specific field,they just need the license to go all out attack!! shami can consistently crank 90mph for 3-4 overs,yadav can bowl 147+ if given the license ,till now these guys are holding their aggression and speed a bit to maintain good lines(actually fear of losing control which results in way too many loose deliveries) which has worked for them till now

Just about not being scared and keep doing what we have been doing! But I do feel we need a plan B, our seamers might need it, as I feel this match versus Australia will be very different to the rest we played, especially if we bowl first. I can see Dhoni bringing on Ashwin to Warner early on if he lays into one of the seamers :winky: Mohit's clever variation is nice as a 3rd seamer.

Wahab has more pace than Akram but Akram was wizard with ball.Even if it was Akram today on this pitch he would not have done more than Wahab, The thing is against Smith he did not look threatening nor did he try short pitch stuff against Smith.

Didn't bowl just well, he bowled amazing. Watson is no mug, sure not the force he wasn't once before, but he was made to look like a fool. Wahab should have had the wickets of Maxwell, Watson to add to the Warner and Clarke wickets. Not a bad collection. It was one of the best ODI bowling spells ever, even better than some of the 5 and 6 wicket hauls I've seen. In fact I'd go so far as to say that it was the best display of fast bowling since that match where Bond had Aus all over the place in 2003. It's such a shame he only had the 2 wickets to show for all his efforts.

Watto has played for one my favourite franchises. Also he is one of the few aussies who is actually very well behaved. I briefly spoke to him in England, not that it matters but he is a gentleman. Remember Dhawan mocked Watson by limping during the IPL, Watson's reply was mature. So for Riaz to keep on targeting Watson with repetitive verbals was not great. Remember when Kohli was ultra aggressive in the test series and all the aussies were laying into him, Watson just smiled and only said a few things to Kohli but nothing like warner, haddin and co. Starc is another one who gets worked up a lot and from the video a Pakistani posted on here, looks like he fired up Wahab when he was batting. I missed that initially.

Also I don't agree that this spell of bowling from Wahab was the best ever in a world cup. Madness! Did he get close to changing the game? Did he trouble more than one batsmen? How many wickets did he get? It was a good first spell, that's it. We all know Watson struggles with pressure at times. It's almost like we were surprised Pakistan had some fire and gave extra credit. Clarke was a good wicket, Warner is a flayer like Maxwell.
