zen Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 The QF went as per expectations, however I am expecting an upset in the SF w/ Ind edging out Aus Against Pak, IMO, the Aus struggled vs. pressure. Were 24/3 at one point and could have lost a few more. At SCG, the pressure will compound and be at a different level. Don't be surprised if the batsmen struggle to put bat to ball or bowlers struggle to hit the ball in the right areas :giggle: Ind has nothing to lose so it can focus on doing the basics right, and this team handles pressure much better. A lot will depend on how Ashwin bowls. If he picks up a 5-er, Ind would be through :woot:

When asked about India-Aus cricket rivalry ... Maxwell : "There are a lot of big rivalries in international cricket. Every team that we play against, there is like some sort of rivalry or history attached. For Australia, the Ashes, is still probably our biggest and oldest rivalry."

SCG pitch expected to take spin. hence Ashwin will be key. Not sure about Jadeja, although he has wood over Clarke, but only in India. Clarke will be all over him in SCG, his fav pitch. Jadeja gets in for fielding alone. Indians will have to field better like they have been doing. Except for Ireland match, they haven't dropped catches in key games.
Cricketics Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Big challenge coming up for our bowlers Before they arrived in Australia, they were definitely lacking experience. Today they are all different bowlers than what they were before the start of the tri series. This is really a massive game for our bowlers. They have been outstanding this whole world cup and now they are up against Aussie batting who, chased down 212 run target even before the third powerplay. Let's get this right, even though Aus were put in trouble, their run rate was really good in the quarter final against Pakistan. They won the game in 34th over. That is some serious batting after all the wobbles they had in that game against Wahab Riaz. That is why this will be a great challenge for our bowlers, and different one from what they have seen agains tteams like South Africa or Pakistan or Windies. Aus will try to attack us just like the 2003 world cup final. Warner-Finch-Clarke-Smith is a really great top order. If our seamers do the same thing like they did in other games and get early wickts, we can really put massive pressure on their middle and lower order. No doubt our spinners will come into play, but our seamers really have to bowl well here against Aus bats who will be in attacking mode to get early advantage and put pressure back on India. I hope our seamers and spinners bring their best against the Aussies.
MK55 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Wouldn't be massively disappointed if we get beaten by the better team in the finals.. But we somehow need to find a way and beat AUS. Caused so much misery in the past 3 /4 months. I hope the boys are charged up for this match.
Cricketics Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I don't think those are big mouth comments. They just answered in the correct manner. It wasn't one of those Sehwag or Mcgrath like statements from Maxwell or Hazlewood. They are pumping their team up that they have won everything this summer in Australia and that too against India, which is correct. He is showing confidence their in himself and his team. But in back of his mind, he knows it's a different game and different Indian team who are on a roll. Also the nature of knock out game is different from a regular game. Indian bowling has performed better than expected, so a big challenge for even Australia here.
