But on the field he looks different. Infact he only tried diffuse the situation when Jaddu was going nuts over Raina for dropping a catch. As long as he doesn't lose the plot on the field when things go wrong i am fine. Infact his aggressive captaincy had a round applause from Channel 9 commies in both the tests he captained.

I know lot of Delhites are hot-headed. Gauti, Dhawan . Viru is also a straight shooter. Yes what he says looks very bad. But we cannot extrapolate and say he will behave that way with his team mates. Not everyone handles rejections very well. Remember how Yuvraj was pissed off at Mumbai crowd in the IPL. Same Mumbai crowd booed Tendulkar as well. He didn't have much to say about it. His tiff with Dhawan has been suppressed. But Dhawan did not play after that under Kohli if i am right. From a fan's perspective that was the right move. But there were speculations whether he was dropped because of the tiff. Hope that is not true.

His on field behavior looks better than off field behavior :cantstop: So he just has to fix his off-field attitude. He should leave everything on the ground. He shouldn't go around giving interview "I have no respect for Mitchell Johnson" like MJ has something personal tiff with him. That is the problem with Kohli. He is taking every little thing personally. It is not like Rahane, Dravid didn't cop abuse.

But definitely one of the top 3 batsman in the world. It is human tendency to ignore your negative points if you keep your feet ground and act nice. It is also a human tendency to exaggerate every little negative point if you show attitude. It is very tough in India to stay off the radar. But people have been there done that. Tendulkar, Dravid, Kumble, Laxman to name a few. You don't think Dhoni doesn't get abuse. He probably gets more than the most (some he richly deservers. That is a different subject :cantstop: ) Point is not whether the abuse is warranted or not. Point is how you handle it.

Guldozer Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I don't particularly like Kohli's personality but he is right. Indian media makes him a hero one day and then next day when he fails he gets butchered. There needs to be a balance.
