Cricketics Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 What a class act :hatsoff: Now the team is travelling for the tournament which was not sure earlier because of the lack of funds. http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/ipl/2342959/gautam-gambhir-comes-to-indian-ice-hockey-teams-rescue-donates-four-lakh-rupees/ We need more such people to support other sports
Cricketics Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Sachin ? Not many know about the sport. Hockey association tweeted about it otherwise most of them would have known, not even Gambhir. I
Temujin Khaghan Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 true patriot. loves India to bits, hates dhoni and his cronies like rohit, kohli. he is like angry ganguly.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Well done Gambhir. Now please use your money to fund one more foreign trip - this one is especially in the service of the country:
velu Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Ice Hockey in India?? Hmm same thoughts .. could be a very costly game for us to maintain
Invasion 550 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Good gesture. But he should have donated it to the field hockey board if you ask me. Ice hockey is useless in india.
Cricket_Hacker Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Good gesture. But he should have donated it to the field hockey board if you ask me. Ice hockey is useless in india. exactly
Desi Cartman Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Good gesture. But he should have donated it to the field hockey board if you ask me. Ice hockey is useless in india. They have facilities to play the sport in HP. These guys have worked really hard and have taken personal loans or paid by credit cards to represent the nation. When our government is ok to give away food processors and tvs or laptops by spending millions of dollars then what these guys are asking to represent their country and their sport is very reasonable. Unfortunately our govt think it's only important to make movies tax free and do other random **** than helping these guys. Their gear is many years old and they need money for that and to pay back their debt that they took on to book the airtickets. I was donating money to them last week but one of the pages wasn't https so I didn't complete the transaction.

Ice hockey is useless in india. exactly Field hockey and it's players are doing decent. We are able to participate every where and have facilities in India for players to utilise. We even host hockey leagues. Ice hockey has been no where. Those Himchal folks need money so they can develop their skills. Yes, 90 percent of players will come from there since that is the best location to play sports or kashmir region. So we have to spend money there. Whatever it takes to send an Indian team for any sports. It is ridiculous for India to not have national teams for certain sports. Games like water polo etc should have teams too. I mean how tough is that to maintain. We have to spend money on these small sports. Cricket, field hockey have enough for now. Have to look at our other options and also individual sports too.
