If India beats SA(just guessing)We will have huge advantage in rankings just like Paksitan benifited from whitewashing England who was higher In rankings at that time.

This winter series against them will be epic. I see either side winning 2-1. Will be epic if we win, we ended the 16 match winning streak of Aussies twice(Kolkata 2001 and Perth 2008), old habits die hard :winky:. We need to roll out turners like we did against England in 2012. They don't have an equivalent of Swann or Panesar, and we have Ashwin !!! On phattas they are favorites though.

Even a draw against SA will get us good number of points because of massive difference is points between India and SA. SA are so far ahead that they will have to win against everyone to maintain that massive point lead.

Tough times for Pakistan ahead.. Even before the start of their overseas series in 2016 they are at 6.. They will have to do well againt Eng,Ind at home and SL in SL to provide cushion to their rankings before they star touring overseas.

Methinks this RSA series( 4 tests ) will be our watershed moment like Aus 2001 home series, when we end their streak, then improve overseas and go on to no 1 spot in 5 years time. Our team's nucleus is very very strong+ we have genuine bowling talent(unpolished yes but potential is huge), just pray that team politics doesn't make a comeback in Indian cricket.

Fair enough, in last 3 years we lost vs SL, both home and away series, got clean swept vs SA.. even a defeat vs Zim and NZ... (or I think in SL both times)
