Virat hasnt cemeted his place as captain ? He is first name you put on paper when deciding playing xi and has shown done well in the limited options he has received as captain, the bottom line he is the captain for yrs to come . learn to live with it. As someone said earlier; we Indians will go any length to save a buck and any part of world to earn one; however we expect Kohli to choose 1 BD test over 10crs or whatever he makes.

It hasn't been long since when he looked completely broken and out of sorts before he redeemed himself spectacularly by doing well on the Aussie tour. Another bad series and his place as a batsman would've been on the line, as it's now for Pujara. And no, I don't think he'd need to forgo IPL to play a one off test match. I wonder why it should be either one or the other. He can skip the ODIs of course, the situation isn't the same, he hasn't been appointed as the new ODI captain.

Thought with Dhoni retiring won't hear rant against captain for atleast a year but no , have to bash the one man who scored 4 100s in the previous test series. People are so worked up cause Kohl wants to skip one test, BD isn't Important. If they were then please let me know in the last 15-16 yrs of their test history how many times have they been invited to play a test series in India ? ZERO. No one cares about BD cricket in India which includes BCCI, Players, FANs. Give the guy a break, 26yr old wants to spend time with friends and family. This is one of the most ridiculous thing that I usually hear that this match is not important and that match isn't important. Yes, you can say BD is an easier opponent than Aus or SA but match against BD is far more important than against Aus or SA because even if we lose against them, we know they are good teams, but a loss against BD will hurt more. 2007 WC defeat still haunts us. The loss againdt BD also affects our points and rankings more than a loss against a stronger opposition.

No one cares about the lose in 2004 or the Asia cup

adi B Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Kohli should skip the odis but should play the solitary test but then if he has problems to get into the test grove so quickly then its fine if he doesn't go to BD at all. For the odis ,it'll be better if india plays a young side with few experienced blokes like rahane,nohit,bhuvi but I'd like to try out youngsters like axar,karun,samson,aaron,kuldeep etc

BD is a crap team and i cant see them beating us consistently for years to come. Yes they might win one odd game here or there but nothing beyond that. Kohli needs a break, he has asked his boss , if they agree then i back them for doing the right thing. I am tired of ppl who keep harping on take-a-break-from-ipl non sense. Why should our No 1 batsman give up anything to waste time at worlds clothing back office.

He should be playing only in Tests. agreed he should not even play test matches. as he has played tests, ODIs for the duration of the aussie tour. Him and shami deserve the rest. People should not compare pace bowlers to batsman. The wear and wear on bowlers (especially pacers) is a lot more per match than batsman.

No need for Umesh. Personally i would like to see India develop a battery of about 7-8 bowlers across the formats.

renjith Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I don;t see anything wrong if kohli see ipl as more important than a test against bangladesh. people need to stop unnecessary hate towards ipl. it is the best thing happened to domestic players in india. quality/skill wise as well I am more eager to see how a shreyas iyer performs against steyn/morkel/starc than against mortaza/rubel.
