Gaptan should re-think about alliances. A BJP + ADMK alliance will strengten both of them.
Somehow doubt it .Amma without BJP gets most of minority votes .And most people who voted for BJP in general elections due to Modi factor will vote for Amma in state elections anyway .Like it happened in Srirangam So having BJP will only polarize minority votes to DMK and don't think BJP don't have the vote bank to compensate for it Think she will definitely go alone .Coalition with Vasan and Communists are more likely than BJP tbh

From what I know, the ADMK's minority vote bank is very minimal compared to DMK. There won't be cardinal difference, like an election losing alliance. But agree considering the flipside, BJP can't even put forth 20 or 25 good MLA candidates.

More than happy most r just relieved tbh.We don't want another Bandh Protests etc affecting normal lives People have long back developed a passive acceptance to corrupted politicians sadly .Not just in TN either
It is sad. Passive acceptance has developed because they realized long ago that they cannot change anything. Money and muscle will continue to dominate . The unbridled Sycophancy on display , though not unique to TN , was disconcerting .

Don't minority votes go to DMK+allies. Amma isn't a Hindu hater like Kalaignar, her party(along with BJP and SS) sent bricks for construction of the Ram temple in Ayodha, clamped down really hard against evangelists in coastal TN unlike DMK which gave them a free reign.

People must affected by this judgement are those shameless evangelists operating in Kanyakumari,Tuticorin,Kalpakkam etc.

^ +1 The anti-conversion law faced a strong backlash and ADMK was forced to repeal it. This seriously dented their chrislamist vote bank
Historically Muslims alligned with DMK and Christans allied with ADMK particularly the fisher men communtiy. But since DMK alligned with BJP in 2001 the muslim votes have fluctuated consistently .Why do u think Amma never went bank to a coallision with BJP even since the 2004 Lok Sabha polls .She learnt never to polarize the minority vote bank :haha: Yes She lost lot of votes with the anti conversion law but she also suffered far more backlash from most of Hindu community with her Ban on Animal and Bird Sacrifices law.We forget our politicians too easily :--D She has introduced a lot of schemes to win over them tbh .DMK also completely lot the plot during the fisherman issue being in Congress coalition which Amma capitalized I cant find the articles now but plenty of them were published in the aftermath of elections showing the Muslim community have deserted towards Jaya in local media(J Vikatan etc) Even in significant Muslim constituencies like Vellore Myladuthurai Thanjavur etc she won with massive margins. DMK came 3rd in Vellore IIRC

I think there is an Islamic political party in TN, I think based Rameswaram. Who do they ally with? I have heard they are very rigid, intolerant, hostile towards non Muslims and the founders are former SIMI cadre. They were also associated with the statewide killing of BJP leaders last year, Al Ummah something. And how is Coimbatore in terms of political alignment? I heard it too has a significant Muslim population and then there were the 1998 Coimbatore blasts !!!!

Though the trial court in its judgment mentioned that the accused availed loan by the Indian Bank, but it has not considered the same as income. Therefore, the trial court has erred in not considering the loans as income…"
How is loan considered income ?Bizzare

How Karnataka high court acquitted Jayalalithaa in 19-year-old disproportionate assets case CHENNAI: Some fine accounting, number crunching and statistics: At the end, these alone helped AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa and her three associates wriggle out of the 19-year-old disproportionate assets case. On Monday, Justice CR Kumaraswamy of the Karnataka high court matched figures against figures and then arrived at just 8.12% deviation from the declared assets and incomes of the four accused, and the value disproportionate to the declared sums. Like an expert accountant, the judge, said that the total assets of the accused, after deductions, was Rs 37.59 crore, and that their total income during the period was Rs 34.76 crore. Noting that the differential sum was a mere Rs 2.82 crore, the judge said the percentage disproportionate assets was just 8.12%. He went on to say: "It is well settled law that according to Krishnanand Agnihotri's case, when there is disproportionate asset to the extent of 10%, the accused are entitled for acquittal. A circular has been issued by the government of Andhra Pradesh that disproportionate asset to the extent of 20% can also be considered as a permissible limit. The margin of 10% to 20% of the disproportionate assets has been taken as a permissible limit, taking into consideration the inflationary measures." It is relatively small, he said, adding, "The disproportionate asset is less than 10% and it is within permissible limit. Therefore, accused are entitled for acquittal. When the principal accused (Jayalalihtaa) has been acquitted, the other accused, who have played a lesser role, are also entitled for acquittal." Justice Kumaraswamy was also of the view that the prosecution had "mixed up" assets of the accused, firms and companies and also added the cost of construction (Rs 27.8 crore) and marriage expenses (Rs 6.45 crore) and valued the assets at Rs 66.45 crore. He said, "If we remove the exaggerated value of cost of construction and marriage expenses, the assets will work out at Rs 37.59 crore. The total income of the accused, firms and companies is Rs 34,76,65,654. Lack of proportion amount is Rs 2,82,36,812. The percentage of disproportionate assets is 8.12%."
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/How-Karnataka-high-court-acquitted-Jayalalithaa-in-19-year-old-disproportionate-assets-case/articleshow/47236979.cms So, basically the High court is saying that small scale corruption of a few crores is no big deal if the accused already has assets running into multiple crores. In a way, the HC is also agreeing that her assets are indeed disproportionate but she is not all that evil since according to their calculation, the illegitimately acquired assets are not deemed to be much.

No.. They are accommodating margin of error .. If you could save 20l per year but you saved 22l then its acceptable limit
